This!!!! This is what it’s about!Coming together to help people in need. Our clients and friends are the best! The original Humane Society that we were collecting for had all their dogs taken out by the United States Humane Society so we got a contact in Asheville to get supplies to their Humane Society. Thanks to some special friends for hauling it over for us. These people and animals are going to need our help for awhile. Please continue to bring items, and we will make sure they get where they need to go. We love yall, and are so thankful for your giving heart!!

After returning to nursing school and starting my job as an RN last year, life threw me an unexpected curveball. I had to step away from that role after only a few short months due to a bowel obstruction. Many of you know I’ve dealt with GI health issues my entire life, which ultimately led to the removal of my colon. When that setback happened, I returned to grooming at Uptown Hound—a place I’ve called my own since I was 12—for a less stressful (most days 🤪) and more flexible environment that better suited my health needs at the time.

This past year, while working solely at Uptown Hound alongside my family (and coworkers who’ve become family), my health has improved tremendously. Even more miraculously, I got pregnant—something we didn’t think would be possible without fertility assistance down the road. Now, just weeks away from going on maternity leave to welcome our boy, I find myself reflecting with IMMENSE gratitude.

Before stepping away for this new chapter, I want to take a moment to thank my amazing coworkers for always taking care of me, and my wonderful clients for their overwhelming kindness. The love and support from everyone who walks through our doors has been truly heartwarming. Your words of encouragement, thoughtful compliments (especially on tough days), generous gifts, and patience when I’ve been moving a bit slower or feeling unwell mean the world to me.

You’ve shown me a side of Morristown that touches my heart deeply, and it’s a big part of why I love being here. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your love and support! My family is FOREVER GRATEFUL and we can’t wait to share our first non-fur baby with everyone!

JUST A REMINDER, TO ALL DOG OWNERS.

⚠️🚙⚠️ Despite the warnings, hundreds of dogs die every year after being left in a hot car. Someone you know may need to read this very important message. ⚠️🚙⚠️

SIX MINUTES is all it takes for a dog to overheat in a hot car.

Your dog could suffer serious injury or die in a matter of minutes if left alone in a car.

• The temperature inside a closed vehicle left in the sun can double within 12 minutes.

• At least 75% of the temperature increase in a closed vehicle occurs within 5 minutes of closing the vehicle, and at least 89% of the temperature increase occurs within 15 minutes of closing the vehicle.

• Temperatures exceeding 104˚ F can lead to death or serious injury for the occupants.

• Temperatures in a closed vehicle sitting in the hot sun can reach 160˚F and above. An animal will suffer immeasurably and may die before the temperature reaches 150˚F.

• Even when parked in the shade, the vehicle temperatures can exceed 104˚C.

• Leaving windows down more than 2 inches on an unattended vehicle will not prevent a car from reaching extreme temperatures.

• Even if the animal is revived, they can die due to severe internal organ damage.

Your dog trusts you to have their best interest at heart ALWAYS.
Please don’t risk their safety.

If you are not taking your dog inside your destination with you, PLEASE leave them at home where they are comfortable and safe.
