Holiday Hours Update!

In observance of Memorial Day, we will be closed Saturday and Sunday, May 25-26th, and have limited lobby hours on Monday, 5/27, from 1:00-5:30pm. Normal operating hours resume on Tuesday, 5/28.

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Carol Tice to our team! Dr. Tice, formerly with Cat Care Veterinary Clinic in Morrisville, will be focusing on our feline friends.

Dr. Carol A Tice (note her initials) grew up in upstate NY with her back yard being her best friend’s family dairy farm. She obtained her BS from Syracuse University and her MS in Genetics from Long Island University. She started her professional career as a genetic toxicologist. She had always dreamed of being a feline veterinarian so she went back to school and graduated with her DVM from Cornell
University at the age of 36. She moved to NC in 1991 and finally started her dream career of exclusively feline practice in 1995.

Dr. Tice lives in Morrisville with her better half, Dan, and their three kitties: Barry (Barracuda), Squid and Boone. In her spare time she loves to cook, read and to do anything possible outdoors that involves water (especially scuba diving!).

Dr. Tice is thrilled to bringing her passion for feline medicine to Grace Park Animal Hospital and can’t wait to see you and your kitties!

If you haven't already had the opportunity to meet her, please join us in welcoming Dr. Victoria Brister to Grace Park Animal Hospital!

Dr. Victoria Brister was born and raised in Amarillo, Texas. She attended the University of Texas in Austin and graduated with a BS in Ecology, Animal Behavior, and Evolution. She received her veterinary degree from the Atlantic Veterinary College at Prince Edward Island and after falling in love with Canada, decided to practice in the province of New Brunswick for two years.

Dr. Brister joined the team at Grace Park after relocating to North Carolina to be closer to family. She is passionate about client education, internal medicine & palliative care.

Outside of the office she is happiest when spending time with her husband, Aiden and their pets. Her furr family consists of two goofy & lazy basset hounds, Watson and Ruthy, and a rascal cat, Badger. She enjoys bird watching, gardening, hiking, & curling up with a good book.

It’s National Vet Tech Week and we’re celebrating our entire team! Cheers to this amazing group of kind, caring, compassionate individuals. We couldn’t do what we do without them. Their devotion to animals and the veterinary industry is something to be admired. We want to inform you of updates to our vaccine requirements. Effective immediately, Canine Influenza will be a required vaccine for any dog in our boarding or daycamp facilities.

After recent outbreaks in our area, which have included deaths, we believe this to be the safest option for all pets staying at our facility. Canine Influenza is a highly infectious disease. The virus can be shed in infected dogs for up to 14 days before any signs of illness are seen. An outbreak in a boarding facility could result in a shutdown.

We now require that dogs be fully vaccinated prior to staying in the hospital. If your pet has not yet received a Canine Influenza vaccine, it will take 4 weeks before they are considered to be fully vaccinated, so plan ahead. For a previously unvaccinated dog, this means they will need two doses of the vaccine, given 2 weeks apart. Dogs are not considered fully protected until 2 weeks after the second vaccine.

If your pet has already received their Influenza vaccine, they will need to stay current to be considered fully vaccinated. If their vaccine is overdue, they will need a booster and then need to wait 2 weeks before they are eligible to stay in the hospital.

Meet Nala! This sweet girl came in to see us this week riding in style :-) don’t worry, she wasn’t loose - she had a harness on. Her dad reports she is doing great with harness training and she is learning how to walk around and explore on it. When she gets nervous, she heads back to dad for safety and encouragement 😸 Keep up the good training!
