Adorable Monster Paisley here to say Happy Halloween and to share some tips to help keep your pets safe during the Halloween festivities! 🐾

Keep candy out of reach : chocolate and xylitol, a sugar substitute in mini candies, are toxic to pets.

Clean up candy wrappers: colorful wrappers to sticks from lollipops can become choking hazards, or bowel obstructions.

Optional and comfortable costumes: do not force your pet to dress up in costumes if they seem stressed or fearful.

Decorations: be mindful of your Halloween decorations. Curious pets could get into them, including lit pumpkins and decorations with cords or hanging strings!

And always, check the chip! Always make sure your pets microchips are up-to-date and register registered. Trick-or-treaters continuously coming up to your doors can be stressful and or fearful, this can also approve to be an opportunity for an escape attempt.

As we know ear infections are common in pets, especially those with long floppy ears, but did you know some common signs of an ear infection in a pet can include scratching or rubbing at the infected area more frequently, head shaking, redness in the ear canal, discharge that can vary in color, odor, crusting or scabbing, or balance issues including tilting their head to one side!
Ear infections can be caused by a number of things, including foreign objects like grass seeds or fox tails, skin growths or tumors in the ear canal, water from bathing or swimming, parasites like ear mites, and allergies to things like fleas, food, or the environment!
Ear infections can be a common problem for pets, especially dogs. When you notice these signs or have any questions, be sure to schedule your next vet appointment where your Veterinarian can examine and prescribe your pet with appropriate treatment!

Did you know world rabies day is celebrated annually to raise awareness about rabies prevention and to highlight progress in defeating this horrifying disease. With the help of our Veterinarians and pet owners, spreading knowledge and making sure our animals are vaccinated against rabies, we too aid in that progression! 🙂🐾🐱🐶

With the first day of fall being yesterday, we know how much our pets love running and playing in piles of leaves! But did you know that fallen leaves and leaf piles can be breeding grounds for ticks, spiders, mites, and other pest! So always check your pets after they’ve had their fun and talk to your Veterinarian about preventatives for your animals and making sure they are up to date! 🍂🐶🍁🐱🌳
