New toys are so fun! We recently received a major upgrade to our 3d printing capabilities and are having a blast printing new gadgets! As such, we're going to be offering a 30% discount on all 3d printed goods like this XL frag rack(available in a range of sizes) throughout the rest of the month!!

Again, big apologies over the radio silence!

We've added a few thousand gallons of new reef aquariums that still require extra attention to the shop! 😃🤩

Even more excitingly(if you ask me), we have been up to some really cutting-edge work with lytic phage therapy in the treatment of our fish using live viruses aimed at attacking bacterial pathogens! Stay tuned for content involving the cell culture of target strains and subsequent viral infection!

New Year New Pet?
We are rehoming our pet pygmy hedgehog!

Our little guy is a great pet for children and older, he is very tame and quiet and enjoys the occasional holding.

Pygmy hogs are easy to care for; they eat a variety of food (including cat and fish food), use a wheel to exercise, drink from a standard water dispenser, and have minimal waste.
They can also be housed in a bioactive environment!

Heck YEA!!

We FINALLY got our latest Horn Shark and Cortez Ray to start taking frozen food.. on the same night, no less! Always such a big step in ensuring these fish are ready to thrive in captivity, and WOW are they slamming it down now!!

It's not often stated how important it is to put effort into feeding these critters at night, after lights have been out a couple hours, while they're still learning their new diets. But it is, and it really feels good when the overtime pays off 🤌

All that's left to do from here until they're ready to go is to slowly start feeding earlier and earlier until they start expecting food only during the day. They come in with a whole lifetime of programming that says to do the opposite, so naturally, patience is necessary when expecting them to learn new behaviors. But! This is the easy part! Pretty much downhill from here, and that's a HUGE relief!🥰
