Congrats to Bryan Dell and his dog, Ares!
This weekend Ares & I competed in the JASD PSA Club “Heart Breaker” Protection Sports Association (PSA) Trial in West End, North Carolina. I wanna say thank you to this club for an outstanding Trial, for the hospitality and a great weekend all around, job well done!
We went there to compete for our PSA Level 1 Title. In order to earn your title you must pass two (2) “Legs” or attempts of the entire Level 1 Obedience & Protection routines on two separate days.
Well, we did just that and earned our PSA Level 1 Title! This was only our 2nd trial ever as a team. We earned our PDC in September of 2023 also under the same judge, which is cool!
For those that don’t know, having any sort of success in PSA takes not only a solid dog and quality training, but it also take a village of people to help along the way.
I wanna first thank my wife, Ashley, for her unwavering support of our new-ish journey into the PSA scene and for all the time I spend away not only training with Ares but also my club BAMF K9's of Ohio PSA Club (Non-Sanctioned…Yet) teams. Not to mention also Dad duties, running TTK9 full time, coaching baseball, life etc… Ashley also made the trip with us to be our support element. She made some key inputs to our pregame routine that came in clutch in the end too.
I also wanna thank my kids, Bryce and Brylee, for their support and help along the way! I wanna thank my Mom for holding down the fort for us this weekend and all her support as well.
I wanna thank all my BAMF Family for the love and support! You can’t find better people around. We couldn’t have done it without you all!
Thank you to Samantha Taylor for another phenomenal job as our Trial Judge and for the feedback provided. It’s always a pleasure!
A most definite thank you goes out to our Decoys for the weekend as well. You guys absolutely crushed it, were class acts and showcased professionalism in the craft.
Thanks to Brad and Karen from Lionheart Belgian Malinois and Dutch Shepherds for producing such fine specimens of Working Dogs and entrusting us to do right by Ares. He is an absolutely incredible dog and has been from day 1. He continues to excel in all he does!
Ares and I are going to take the rest of today off after having a long weekend. However, tomorrow we will be back to the grind even harder now as we now have our eyes set on that PSA 2!
(Pics & Videos still to come!)
