Get the word out that Feline Distemper is in the Moses Lake area. 😫😢
Simple vaccination will prevent the spread of this very contagious disease. 🙏❤️🐱

Vet check done. Good for the most part except a little thin. Possible open pyometra (uterine infection). No treatment at this time due to no fever. I’ll keep an eye on it.
I’ll post as a Found Dog.
She can stay with me until 30 days has elapsed then I will be looking for placement.

Big shout out to these wonderful people!! One of our placed dogs Peanut (Sam) was found by them running the streets in Idaho in very poor condition. They did their legwork/homework contacting his “caregiver” and the previous owner. In the long run, they met me halfway and he has been returned to me. These kind of people are my tribe!

This is who we are. This is what we do. We will always take them back no matter the situation. 🙏❤️🐶

Thank you to Victoria and Leo with Honeymoon Shih Tzu for this wonderful baby. She has a wonderful personality and will be our final addition to our crew of girls. She’s a carrier of blue and dobie color patterns so I’m very excited.

Weight is difficult to judge. The Shih Tzu should be deceptively heavy. Breed standard is 9-16 lbs so there is quite a range. Bone structure and body type will greatly affect a healthy weight. You should be able to feel their ribs easily but not have your fingers “bump” across them. On the other hand, you should not have to “dig through” tissue over their ribs to feel them either. An overweight dog is in more trouble than an underweight animal. A few more calories and the skinny dog is good to go while an overweight dog is a true project to manage. Also, an overweight dog is prone to Congestive Heart Failure, Cholesterol Deposits, Diabetes, Fatty Liver Syndrome and Quality of Life threatening joint/back degenerative diseases to name just a few concerns.
I know of quite a few Veterinarians who don’t even bring up weight control with their clients any more. The push back is that great. We only mention it early out of true concern for the dog and the desire to afford you both a long life of health and happiness. ❤️🐶
“Pudgy” is ok but It’s a slippery slope to obesity.

Our final little man from this litter. Excellent coat quality and disposition. Toblerone(dad) x Truffle (mom). Our journey to Louisiana that brought these genetics to Washington State was well worth it!!!
