Sometimes a good groom isn’t about what the end looks like but instead the bond built between dog and groomer.

Bronco is a 9 month old scared, recently adopted (5 days ago) and barked at us on arrival dog. Now as we wait for mom to come back we’re bonding with him to make him feel comfortable for his future. In 2 weeks we’ll finish him up and have a better bond than forcing our hand to get the entire service completed today.

In grooming, the hours are tough, the clients aren’t always good and the workload can be heavy. We’re sad to say that such was the case for Chelsea, and she will no longer be working with us. We are glad to of met her, she does beautiful work and if anyone needs a recommendation we do stand behind her work.

Unfortunately, she has decided she is not a good fit for our Bark Avenue family and effective immediately last night she has parted ways.

As of now there is no longer a March New Client special but keep your eye open for future opportunities.

Today we had an incident in the salon that I feel is necessary to share with all of our clients in order to help us prevent such an incident in the future.

One of the pets in our care got its paw stuck in tiny gap under the door. It took 4 of us to free this dog. (2 inside and 2 outside). She is a 50-60lb golden doodle so it can obviously happen to big or small dogs. It’s not been an issue in the 4 years we’ve been in this location but this proves anything can happen.

Luckily there were no viable injuries, just some limping when it was all said and done, we’d like to request that everyone bring their pet in and out on a leash from this point forward. If you have more than one dog please bring them in and out separately in order for us and you to have a better chance to maintain control of your dog. *We have a few exceptions to this rule that we are fine maintaining as we feel it would cause bigger issues to change the routine for those pets*

This particular dog has been with us since she was a puppy and she is very good, just excited to go home with her humans.

Things could have been much worse and I’m thankful she didn’t need immediate vet attention.
