Please keep this in mind! With it being warmer, I have seen more fleas than I ever have this fall/“winter”. It makes for a lengthy cleaning process at the salon, which generally will effect the rest of the groom day!

Even though the calendar says that it’s winter, the fleas and ticks are still very active. That’s why we recommend flea/tick prevention year round to help make our pets feel good during all seasons!

❗️Just a reminder to reach out if you haven’t done so already to get your dogs on the calendar before the holidays. I still have a couple spots open, but they’re filling fast. 🎄🎁

I hope to see all of you soon!💕🐾

⁉️What did she do to those doodles⁉️
* * * * * * * * * *
To the untrained eye the doodles might not look that bad, but the whole coat likely came off in one chunk like a sheared sheep…. maintaining a long fluffy coat on a doodle it takes a lot of brushing and combing out their hair! The most humane option would be to shave them under the matting which ends up being very, very short. I am always willing to recommend tools to help maintain dogs at home💕🐩

Super excited to announce Emily’s Diamond in the Ruff LLC is MOVING! 🤩🥳 I couldn’t do this without my amazing clients and their 4 legged kiddos!! I love what I do and appreciate the support from each and everyone of you! Please read the whole post❤️
—New address as of **October 1st**—
977 O’ Keefe Dr- Suite D
Mosinee WI 54455

Approximately 5 miles from my previous salon.
New building is very close to Kronenwetter Vet and Kenworth. My entrance door will be the farthest down on the building.

Policies to be aware of in the new location:

-Cancelation and No Show Policy:
If an appointment is missed, not canceled or rescheduled 24 hrs for 1 dog and 48 hrs for two dogs, prior to the scheduled appointment time, full cost of the service will need to be paid before or at the next scheduled appointment.

We understand that appointment times don't always work out, but please notify us as soon as possible. Being a small business, an empty appointment slot is lost income, and we have so many requests for appointments that it is not fair to other clients.

-Vaccination Requirements as of November 2022: Distemper, Bordetella and Rabies

-Flea Policy: If fleas are found on pet, at any point, the owner will be called to pick up their dog and full groom price will be charged due to needing to deep clean the salon after the pet has left.

-Matted Pet Policy:
Humanity over vanity! If a pet comes in matted, I will be removing the matting in the least invasive way possible. The groom is subject to a $15-25 up charge in addition to the regular price for the coat being in such poor condition.

-All dogs must be on leash to enter and exit salon!

Thank you for understanding!

Q & A Series:
“What is the difference between a fur bearing breed and a hair bearing breed?
* Fur bearing breeds have a double coat, made up of a soft undercoat and a coarser topcoat. These breeds like Golden Retrievers, Huskies, Newfoundlands, and Pomerainians, shed their undercoat to regulate their body temperature.
* Hair bearing breeds like Yorkies, Shihtzus, Poodles and Bichons have a single coat which lacks an undercoat. Their coat continues to grow and they do not shed.”

Q & A Series:
“How do I brush my dog between grooms?
* The amount of times you should brush your dogs coat per week can vary from coat length and coat type.
* For medium to long coats, you can use a slicker brush and a metal comb. Parting the hair in sections on a small area at a time will help eliminate matts from forming. Any matting you find with your comb that you cannot get through, use your slicker brush to go back over that area. The more you brush your dog the less knots and tangles will form in the coat.
* Brushing your dog can be relaxing for both your dog and yourself. Lying your dog on the floor on their side can help them settle and bond closer with you. If you can not see the skin when parting the hair, matting has formed.
* Longer parts such as the ears, tail, and underarms should always be combed. These spots are the most likely to have matts.”

Q & A Series:
“As a dog owner what are my grooming responsibilities?
* As a dog owner you must ensure your dogs nails are trimmed every 2 months. Regular nail trimming will maintain a healthy foot structure and stop the nail quick (vein) from growing too long.
* A dogs coat should not be washed more than once a week. As too much bathing can strip the coat of its natural oils, these natural oils keep the coat strong, moisturized and glossy. It is recommended to bath your dog at least once a month.
* A dogs ears must be cleaned regularly, once a month is recommended.”

Did someone say doodles??🥰🐾

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Q & A Series:
“How often does my dog need grooming?
* Dogs should be groomed every 4 to 8 weeks.
* Many factors can determine how often your dog needs grooming, such as the length of the coat, the breed of your dog and the desired style or cut.
* If your dog has a short coat, we recommend he or she be groomed every 6-8 weeks.
* If your dog has a medium - long coat, we recommend that he or she has a full groom every 4-6 weeks.
* If your dog has a long coat, we recommend a tidy up groom monthly to prevent having to shave off their coat when they become matted. A long coated breed must be brushed and combed as often as possible. Recommended 4 times per week at home. “

Bringing your puppy in to get groomed is important! It will help them become more comfortable in a salon setting and result in less stressful grooming appointments in the future.
