I can not believe I have to make this post.. but here we are.. with temperatures falling into the teens and a prediction of 5”-7” of snow or more. We do not want our staff or clients traveling in this. And our main focus will be on taking care of the pups already in our care. The struggle bus just got sneaux tires y’all 🥶❄️🤦🏻‍♀️

I know this isn’t what what everyone wants to hear.. we are opening Sunday/Monday, closing Tuesday (possibly Wednesday) because of the increasing chance of snow/ice.

Guys… I’m on the struggle bus trying to keep up. I know we have been closed for my son’s spinal surgery. He’s pretty much helpless and needs round the clock care even at home right now.
I am doing my very best to get caught up. Get everyone accommodated and not rescheduled. We knew this was going to be rough but now Mother Nature is deciding to make it even tougher.

I do appreciate everyone who is hanging on and staying on the struggle bus supporting us. This has not been easy. But we are doing our very best to get back to our usual routine.

We will get our standing appointments down first. Then we will let everyone else who is waiting know if spots are still available those days.

I have worked hard for four years to be reliable, safe, and as accommodating as possible for our area. And am truly grateful for everyone who is holding on for the wild ride we have experienced the last two weeks.

HIGH IMPACT POTENTIAL - I can’t reiterate enough, the event coming next week has the potential to be a high impact weather event. Chances for a winter storm continue to rise and this will stretch the entire I-10 corridor. Very small deviations in the Gulf low will set the precipitation type lines. This is a good estimate of those right now - expect changes. Where the snow goes to all snow, the possibility to see accumulations is high. Given how cold our weather will be next week, travel disruptions are to be expected. Please stay tuned to the forecast, I’ll keep updating as data becomes available!

When the fires rage and the skies turn dark, California’s beauty is overshadowed by loss. Homes crumble, forests burn, and lives are forever changed. But amidst the devastation, there’s a quiet, heartbreaking truth—the animals and pets left behind.

They wait, confused and scared, in the ashes of what was once their safe haven. They don’t understand why the world has turned to smoke and chaos, why the hands that once fed them, the voices that once comforted them, are no longer there. They wander through the ruins, searching for familiar faces, for the warmth of a home that no longer exists.

Some were left behind not by choice, but by circumstance—fires that moved too fast, evacuations that came too late. Others were strays, already abandoned, now facing yet another tragedy. They are the silent victims, the ones who cannot speak for themselves, yet feel the weight of loss just as deeply.

Their eyes tell stories of fear, of longing, of hope. They wait for someone to come back, for someone to save them. They wait for the sound of a familiar voice, the touch of a loving hand. They wait, even as the world around them burns.

But even in the darkest moments, there is light. There are rescuers, volunteers, and kind souls who brave the flames to save these innocent lives. They offer food, water, and shelter. They offer hope. And though the road to recovery is long, their efforts remind us that love and compassion can still shine through the smoke.

Tonight, as we think of California, let’s also think of the animals and pets left behind. Let’s pray for their safety, for their rescue, and for the healing of a land that has given so much to so many. And let’s remember that even in the face of tragedy, there is still room for kindness, for courage, and for love.

California will rise again, and so will its spirit. But until then, let’s not forget the ones who wait, silently and bravely, for a second chance at life. 🕯️🐾

Because we can’t go without seeing dogs for too long.. we were having withdrawals.. meet Crosby. The local celebrity therapy dog at Texas Children's Hospital. Because dogs…
