More exciting news from yesterday.....we dropped Rowan off at the trainers! I put a handful of rides on her last fall and she had so much natural feel and softness, was quiet, willing, smooth moving & just fun to work with. Excited to see who she develops into now with consistent riding would be an understatement!

Well, I wish I had better news to share, next year there won't be very many babies coming.

Our last two rounds of ultrasounds went really bad.......Worm, Priya, Josie and Abby were all open a few weeks ago. I decided to give breeding Worm and Josie another go as they were both coming in to heat. Checked them today and both are still open. I also highly suspect that Amber has lost her foal.......So with that said, we are expecting two babies next year........Molly and Taylor.

I'm going to get Bull's semen tested and go from there, if everything is ok I will probably try to breed Amber and Josie for late fall babies. With them both being older mares I'd rather have late babies vs no baby.

Devastated doesn't even begin to describe how I'm feeling right now. Since Cinder was born late March it's been a non stop fight to keep foals healthy and alive. Different problems with every foal and one after the other, often treating/bottle feeding them round the clock. Then hours breeding mares to have almost all of them be open. To turning everyone out to pasture to find Ginger cut up the next morning and spending a month healing her wounds..........People think breeding is an easy, financially rewarding hobby have definitely never played this game. It's flat brutal and regardless of how hard you work and how hard you try to do everything correct nobody is immune to the heartbreak.
