This is Ash, he is 8.5-month-old Malinois. He is currently training to preform medical alerts for his mom.

We are so proud of his progress! Socialization is huge for any dog, but especially service dogs. Ash is learning to function and perform his task in all environments, despite people, other animals, and distractions alike.

Are you or someone you know currently needing service dog training or maybe just socialization? If so, feel free to give us a call for a no pressure consultation at 229-873-5411, or 229589-0358.

Having problems with your dog? Tried everything you know or saw on the Internet? Frustrated?
Our offer has never changed. We'll get positive results with your dog, or the training was free. Now, let's be clear. There's work to do on your end. There may be changes to make in your home. What you've done hasn't worked or you wouldn't be here. But, what do you have to lose?
We train with the most effective, humane, and reproducible methods we possibly can. We teach you how to do what we've done plus some. We don't hold out any "trade secrets". We'll show you exactly how to have your dog acting like a champ when you get home. But! It is up to you. If you don't have 20-60 minutes a day to spend working with your dog, we aren't interested in working with you. Sounds harsh? It's real. We can't do miracles. You have to be willing to put in the work. If you can't or won't, you'll be wasting your money and I don't want our reputation attached to the lack of positive results.
So, if you are having issues with your dog, and you are willing to be part of the solution, we are here for you. Call us. You'll hear the difference within minutes on the phone. We're here to help you, not criticize you. Now, we'll point out things that can be done better. But, we won't belittle you. Yeah, we've heard it before about other trainers. We aren't them. We're teachers. Passionate teachers.
Call us today and hear for yourself. 229-873-5411 or 229-589-0358.

These pups had a blast playing around at the Bark Park today in Moultrie. Working with commands on some different places with plenty of distractions around. We are quite proud of how far this group has come and are excited for them to go home tomorrow and show off all they have learned with their families. We can do the same for you, feel free to give us a call for a no pressure consultation at 229-873-5411, or 229-589-0358.

Kicking off week 3 with a bang. So proud of these guys with their work today and Home Depot. Definitely brought lots of smiles. Working on basic obedience is so much more than working at home. We get them out into the real world to help proof the commands we have taught them. This is why we call it real life k9. Our goal is to get you real life results where you can function and enjoy your dog in more places than just your living room.
We can do the same for you as well. Feel free to give us a call at 229-873-5411, or 229-589-0358 for a no pressure consultation.

We see a lot of chatter these days on the internet about how not to "bribe" a dog into compliance. Or, the ads that say to never punish a dog. Or ads and attacks against certain tools of the trade.
It is a trainer's job to educate the public on both positive and negative reinforcement. A balanced trainer will also teach about the use of tools, including collars that tend to scare people. The tool is never the issue, it is the misuse of a tool that can be a problem. One of the most incorrectly used tools we see are food bowls.
We see tons of issues caused by the free feeding of dogs. Everything from obesity to real deal behavioral problems that all began with how the dog is fed.
A trainer should also never belittle and unknowing customer. You come to us because this is our area of expertise. A trainer's job is to get the animal to think about the human, and for the human to have a little bit of understanding of what the animal sees and thinks. That is a huge part of the formula to changing behavior. An animal trainer is always teaching.
We are here with you, before, during, and after training your dog. It is imperative that we teach you after we have taught the dog. Otherwise, how can you maintain, let alone expand the results we have gotten. This is why we say once you become our customer, we are your trainers for life.
See how we can help you by calling today. 229-873-5411 or 229-589-0358.

From all of us at Real Life K9 we wish you a Merry Christmas.
If you happen to celebrate another way, We just hope for you and yours to be safe, happy, and you take the time to enjoy family and friends.
It's been a long year, but there is so much to be thankful for. We couldn't have made it without the love and support of dog people. We appreciate all of you.

We say this all the time, and it is so true. Relationships are so important for what we do and how you live and work with your dogs as well. Building relationships is important for allowing us to strengthen a foundation that we later use to train with. It is also important for how you can allow your dogs to coexist with structure and not have to worry about them getting along. We can do the same for you, feel free to give us a call for a no pressure consultation at 229-873-5411, or 229-589-0358.

I'M ASKING THAT AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE SHARE THE FOLLOWING:

We are not and have not been closed. In April, we suffered a terrible fire, but, we were fortunate enough to only close the business for a week while we made everything safe. We had eight outdoor kennels still usable, and within 2 weeks had added 10 to that. We currently have 18 usable outdoor kennel runs with concrete floors and a roof over the entire setup.
Our staff has worked diligently to keep the place safe for us and dogs while the debris was cleaned. Since the outdoor kennels were up, we have ran basically at max capacity most of the time.
In addition, a few weeks ago we installed a new building, most of which houses indoor crates for dogs to go in and out of, especially during inclement weather. That building has been spray foam insulated and is heated and we'll have a cooling system by the time warm weather arrives. We have added to the size of the old training building. The concrete is poured and the roof is up for a new 1600 square feet training building l, which will include everything the old training building had, except the kennel and feed room, which will now be in the new kennel building. This will allow us much more comfort during lessons for the dogs, for us, and our customers.
Unfortunately, I still get random messages about being closed, or someone hearing that we are closed. The biggest help for our business now would be to stop that rumor. We have worked exhausted, injured, sick, and with a lot of emotional distress. However, we still hold ourselves to the same standard as we always have, and always will.
Again, from the bottom of our hearts, we want to thank everyone who has reached out with kind words, financial support, physical labor, and being a shoulder when we needed one. We will not forget.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from all of us to you. And, to those who do not celebrate Christmas, happy holidays to you and yours as well.

Out working distractions again today in Tractor supply. Defiantly proud of these guys and their focus around not only plenty of people but new pups as well. We are halfway through our final week and are going to miss these guys. They are defiantly ready to show off all they have learned😁

Do you have multiple dogs? Can taking them all out at once seem like an impossible task? Or one of your dogs reactive but the others not? If you answered, yes to any of these, then you may be in the same shoes as this family here. Luigi struggled with always wanting to pull and be out front, Yoshi was uncertain of new people approaching the group, and the other two were just excited to lead the way. We had the pleasure of working with all four of them through our basic obedience program and now our e collar training making an enjoyable walk for the group possible now. Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to work with your sweet pups.

Another day with lots of progress working on what we call the 3 D’s
Distance: important for confidence, and teaching them to understand they don’t have to be up under your feet all of the time.
Duration: How long we may ask them to hold a command, giving you the ability to step away and come back for something as simple as opening a door to allow your guests in.
Distractions: These are a part of our everyday life, and as such should be addressed and practiced around to help build confidence and structure within the obedience.

This is what we are tackling this week, and couldn’t be prouder of their progress so far .

Today was a huge step for Ash, a seven month old malinois training to be a service dog for his handler who works as a college professor. Talk about a busy job! Today was our first day getting a chance to work in the classroom while class was in session with many students present, eager to say hello, almost as much as Ash😂. He handled the distractions and new setting like a champ and definitely made his mama proud. It has been such a pleasure getting to work with this sweet boy and continue to watch him grow

Week one is coming to an end with this group and we couldn’t be more proud of their achievements thus far. Some old faces, along with some new ones. Some will be going into service work and others, family pets. Regardless of the end goal, we always start from the same place. We build relationships and trust, so that we can then grow together, as a team. We are excited to continue to work with these guys and grow together. We can do the same for you as well. Feel free to give us a call for a no pressure consultation at 229-873-5411, or 229-589-0358.

Please read. Here's the news!

A few days ago I posted about something exciting happening. Today I will reveal one of those things. We're super excited to announce the new kennel building. The building is 12'x40'. It will be used to house dogs during crate time and inclement weather. Insulation is being sprayed in the next couple of days. The building will be heated and cooled, with a radio playing for white noise.
Attached to the building will be at least 2 play/run areas. These will have turf footing for safety and the ability to disinfect. These runs will be in 6' tall fencing, and will be approximately 12'x40'. Dogs will be supervised when in that area.
⭐⭐What this does for us: Gives us the ability to give dogs better exercise time. Gets all the crates and dog food out of the training building. This will make it more quiet when doing lessons. It will also give us the ability to work on socializing dogs in a different way than before.
⭐⭐⭐ Here's the big one! How does this benefit you? We will now begin boarding for the general public on an as room allows basis. Previously, we only boarded dogs we've trained. Space will be limited, so reservations are recommended. You also get the benefit of having your dog handled by trainers. We may see issues others might miss. Giving you a chance to address them quickly.
The holidays are here! Schedule your furry friend's stay now.
More pictures coming soon. Call 229-456-3138 or 228-589-0358 to schedule boarding.

A few more photos of our current group. really proud of these guys progress! Some of these photos, although they look simple, our huge milestones for a few of these guys. Just simply sitting still, and paying attention can be really difficult for some. Learning to focus and pay attention to the handler despite distractions is important for building confidence in not only themselves, but in you as a handler as well. We can do the same for you, feel free to give us a call for a no pressure consultation at 229-873-5411, or 229-589-0358.
