I think our first ever barn campout was a hit!! We had a cookout, watched a movie, quite a few camped out. This morning, like good horse people do, we fed the horses first and then had a yummy breakfast of pancakes, hashbrowns, bacon, sausage…the older girls then helped me turn horses out and feed hay.

Big thanks to all the parents who helped organize this and cook! I think we’ll do this again!

Easton closed out his show year today at the ODS Championship show! Despite the wind creating an oopps, and a rider error in his Championship test, he had his best tests this year! We even got an 8 on one of our medium trots!! We’ve been working on that all year, so it was nice to see it pay off! Every day with this horse (and his lady) is an absolute pleasure and I feel privileged every time I swing a leg across him. Thank you for the rides, and thank you Easton for being you!! 💜

Some of our duos closed out their show season last Saturday at KJM.

I’m super proud of Sophie for the year she’s had, but also for how she handled not having the day we wanted Saturday! It’s important to remember that this sport is hard! And that sometimes even the most wonderful horses have “off” days! She and Jewel did have fantastic flat classes in the 2’ division and this sweet lady loved on Jewel and left with a smile on her face!

Charlotte & Toodles had a great day, winning their Hunter 3 round with a fantastic trip and took home their first tri-color in the short stirrup division! Great job this year Charlotte with both Ginger & Toodles!

Wren & Junebug and Loghan & Noah added to their successful year with Champion in the Beginner division & short stirrup division respectfully! These duos will finish up their year next week at Fall Finale!

Thanks to KJM for their hard work in getting this show to happen!

😱😱 THIS is why we run our stirrups up as soon as we dismount!!

Magnificent horsemanship was on display by Masakazu Fukami at Del Mar Oct. 28 as his skills in (and out) of the saddle kept Breeders' Cup Classic (G1) contender Ushba Tesoro out of a dangerous situation while training.

Sunday was costume day at Fallfest!! We definitely brought our A game this weekend. Our theme was Toy Story.

We had Woody, Jessie & Bullseye, Mr. Potato Head & Slinky Dog, Bonnie & Buttercup, Bo Peep & her Sheep, Buzz Lightyear, & the aliens!

We were voted 2nd best team costume! So much fun!

I’ll do the show post first, and then follow it up with costume pics!! Fall fest was a blast!! It wasn’t without some spookiness, and interesting things though!!

We had a power outage on Saturday, I helped rescue a trapped kitten, toilets decided to run non stop for no reason, there was a skunk who clearly wandered in overnight and then couldn’t escape for all the people (it just hid and I’m sure wandered out after we all left). But despite all of that, we had a great show! All our riders who competed in their respective classics, ribboned! The Grassroots Classic had 25 total entries, and the Open Classic had 36!

Macy & Jewel were Champion in the Academy Short/Long division and 3rd in the Grassroots!

Wren & Junebug were Champion in the Beginners, won their Eq over fences, and were 8th in the Open Classic!

Loghan & Noah were Champion in the Short Stirrup division and won the Grassroots Classic! They had a first round score of 81!

Charlotte & Toodles had their best show yet together! They earned great ribbons in the Short Stirrup division, barely missing the Reserve Champion spot, and were 9th in the Grassroots Classic!

Aubry & Clifford had another great weekend in the Modifieds and earned top ribbons in their Eq classes as well as 9th in the Open Classic!

Mara & Vinny also competed in that very competitive Modified division and came away with a 2nd in the Handy round and a 4th in their other Hunter round on Sunday!

Great job again guys! And thank you to Stewart Equine Enterprises for a fun show and series!

Revery/Farewell Farm riders received a lot of HJEO year end awards and ribbons at the evening’s banquet! Congrats everyone! Farewell Farm definitely ended its time on a high note as Libby received the trophy for the Battle of the Barns for 2017. Looking forward to an exciting 2018 season!
