Graduation day for my little buddy Snowball! This adorable Great Pyrenees puppy is now 4 1/2 months old. She’s getting big, but still has a ways to grow. Today we reviewed all of her commands at Ferran Park and she did great as always.

Several people came up to pet her and commented on how smart and beautiful she is. Snowball behaved beautifully around people, dogs, squirrels, boats, wheelchairs, and bikes. We made a video with several training tips. I’ll edit it into several short videos with different tips when I get a chance.

Last night was graduation day for Trudi. This 7 year old rescue was highly reactive with a bite history and did not want us to be near her when we first met. Through lots of patience, guidance, and love she is a different dog now. We reviewed all of Trudi’s commands inside the client’s apartment, in the hallway around neighbors, on the elevator, and outside around more neighbors and a dog. These are all high stress situations for a reactive dog, but Trudi did very well. Mike and I gave her some love for everyone again before we left.

Welcome my new little buddy Reese to the ABC Pack! This adorable English Springer Spaniel did great on her first lesson today. After we taught her proper leash manners we taught her the Place command. Reese is such a sweet and loving dog. As you can see, I gave her a big hug for everyone before I left.

Welcome Saiorse (seer-sha) to the ABC Pack! This beautiful Soft Coated Wheaton Terrier did great on her first lesson. After we taught her proper leash manners, and how to not crash an open door, we taught her the Place command. Saiorse remained calm and on her bed until released every time. Even when the client’s granddaughter did it. Of course I gave this beautiful dog lots of hugs and kisses before I left.

Graduation Day for my little buddies Cayman (left) and Charlie! These two handsome dogs did great again today at a very busy Ferran Park. Lots of people walked by them and commented on how well-behaved they both were. We saw a bus full of young kids on the playground, other dogs, lots of active squirrels and birds right next to us, people riding bikes, walking, or jogging past us, ETC!

They are both brand new dogs. It’s always a joy to work with dogs and clients who are motivated in training. Of course both dogs got lots of love before I left. I have a couple of videos which I’ll post when I get a chance.

I took a ride again with Mike to help train this super cool pack of Doodles! Whitney (light colored) Belle (back) and Captain all did great as usual! We reviewed all of their commands inside and outside around lots of distractions. Even when a delivery guy showed up, they all remained calm and in a Down/Stay outside.

We also worked on long distance recalls. We took a video of Captain doing this which I’ll post when I get a chance. Their next lesson will be a field trip to Lowe’s with all 3 dogs!

Another great lesson with my handsome little buddy Kobe. When I first met this rescued mix breed, he was very reactive and did not want to be my friend. Today we reviewed all of his commands on a walk around the neighborhood. He listened beautifully and wanted me to pet him. I’m very proud of Kobe and his family for progressing so quickly after just a couple of lessons.

Another great lesson with my little buddy Snowball! This adorable Great Pyrenees puppy is super smart and fluffy. We reviewed all of her commands and she performed like a champ as usual. Another great lesson with my little buddies Toby and Pearl. They are two of three Bichons currently on our schedule. Small breed dogs like to bark when someone knocks on the door so we focused our session on that. We took turns knocking on the door while the dogs were in Place. Each dog remained calm and on their own bed.

There’s no reason why you can’t have calmness in your home, even if you have multiple small dogs. Practice these scenarios with your dogs and teach them proper manners around guests.

Check out the beautiful smile on my little buddy Charlie! This handsome Bichon Frise is so full of love and energy. He likes to crash the door and run around the neighborhood so we worked on that. It’s important for your dog to stay back away from the door whenever it’s open. Don’t allow your dog to approach the door unless they are on leash and you’re talking then outside. Charlie is doing great with all of his commands.

Graduation Day for Buddy! This handsome Cavachon puppy did great with all aspects of training. We reviewed all of his commands today and Buddy did great with all of them. Because small breed puppies have a lot of energy, we focused our training primarily on the Place command. Buddy stayed calm and on his bed while I talked with his owners or walked around the house. Of course I gave him lots of hugs and kisses for everyone before I left.

Another great lesson with these super fun pack of Doodles! We reviewed all of the commands with Belle, Whitney, and Captain We started out with the digs in Place while Mike and I rang the bell and came in and out of the house repeatedly. Then we reviewed heel and sit/stay. Finally, we taught them Down/Stay. All three dogs did great with everything again.

They are featured in a training video that we posted after their last lesson. Their mom is highly motivated in training which is very important. Mike and I made sure to give all 3 dogs lots of hugs before we left.

Graduation Day for this sweet 3yr old Maltese/mix! We ran Diva through all of her commands and she did great as usual. She is a changed dog and her owner is doing a wonderful job raising her. Mike and I made sure to give Diva lots of hugs and kisses for everyone before we left.

Remember, to teach your dog to wait before every meal. This helps to reduce food aggression and it’s a good way to reward your dog for holding a command.

In this case, Mike had Luna in Place. You could also use the Sit or Down commands.

Graduation Day for Luna! If you saw the introduction video of this sweet 4 month old Belgian Malinois puppy, you know that she was full of energy. She pulled on the leash, jumped on everyone, and whined constantly. But after her 2-week Board/Train with us, she is a brand new dog.

The mom cried and kept saying we must’ve switched the dog. Lol. The dad said it was worth every penny and wants to do more training with us. Luna is featured in some videos and I’ll post more when I get a chance.

Graduation Day for Dutton! This handsome 3yr old Labradoodle has been featured in several videos and I have a few more to post when I get time. We reviewed all of his commands with us working him, and then with his owner. She couldn’t believe the change in his energy level. He’s gone from a very hyper dog who whined constantly to a much calmer dog.

The client sent me a picture of Dutton doing Place at home last night and one of him doing Down/Stay before breakfast. It’s very important to enforce the commands in all situations. Dutton will be missed.

Got in another great lesson with Dutton today. As usual, Shadow and Snickers were very helpful. They stayed in Place, while I ran Dutton through his commands. He will be going home tomorrow and we will definitely miss him.

They all did great! We made a few videos with some important training tips. I’ll post them when I get a chance.

Welcome my two new buddies to the ABC Pack! Remi (3 month Malinois/GSD) and Kodi (3yr Aussie) both did great on their first lesson today. They were full of energy when I arrived, barking and jumping. But they quickly learned proper manners when we began training. We taught them the Place command. Each dog remained calm and on their own bed. They even took a little nap while we talked about house training. I made sure to give both of these adorable dogs lots of hugs and kisses before I left.

Graduation Day for my little buddy Paulo! This handsome little Morkie puppy did great on his field trip to Ferran Park. We reviewed all of his commands around countless distractions, including several very active squirrels playing just a couple of feet away from him. I posted that video on instagram and I’ll post it here soon. We also got a video of Paulo walking on a wall. He’s super cool puppy who’s being raiseded right by a wonderful family.

Remember to be creative when training your dogs to raise well-behaved dogs that you can take anywhere.

These two dogs will be going home in a few days. It’s been a joy having them in our Board and Train program. Be sure to check out their video I posted earlier.

TIP: To help your dog stay in Place better, burn off energy outside in the yard first. Another free training tip from our session with Sugar last night. This adorable rescued Pit Bull is doing great and her family is highly motivated in training. Notice that she looks down at the leash, wondering why I’m no longer holding it. This technique of using spatial pressure is used to help the dog go to their bed on their own. Welcome Luna to the ABC Pack! This super energetic and sweet 4 month old Belgian Malinois puppy just arrived for a 2 week Board and Train.

Here’s another free training tip for you. Body language is very important when training your dog because they are paying attention to what you are DOING more than what you’re SAYING.

Here’s the video from last night. You’ll hear the owner mention that the dogs got into a scuffle on their first meeting. Nova (on Mike’s right) went through the training. She was highly reactive before training. The client’s mom just rescued Lola and they asked for help on getting the dogs together. As you can see, their behavior is much different than what the client experienced without us. Remember, the dogs don’t need to be best friends. They just need to behave themselves, which they did beautifully. Yall show these dogs some love and tell Mike he’s doing a good job as well. ❤️

Check out this video of Tally rocking the Down/Stay, even with the door wide open and his owners outside! Like the client mentioned, this sweet 5 month old Cocker Spaniel puppy is definitely a new dog. You’ll recall that Tally’s brother (Chase) is also going through the training. Dutton is doing awesome already and we’re less than a week into his training! This was the first time we worked on this and he picked it up right away. What’s most impressive is that I just got home from being out training a few minutes prior to us running Dutton through this scenario so he was excited to see me as well. As you can see, in spite of his excitement, Dutton remained disciplined and on his bed. He will continue to improve as we work these scenarios more throughout his training.
