Maynard J started October by earning a title in Interior L1 and ended the month with a passing mark to become a a certified therapy dog

And as tonight is Celebration of the Passing of our Pets (dia de la muerte) I will thank those pets who are no longer by my side but forever in my heart

And for my friends who may have had a s**t week. I am sorry and hope things get better for you soon

🐾 Respecting Service Dogs: How to Engage the Right Way 🐾
We totally understand the urge to interact with a service dog—they’re often adorable and well-trained! However, it’s crucial to respect the space of service dog teams for several important reasons.
🚶‍♀️ Why Respect Their Space?
• Focus Matters: Service dogs are working and need to stay focused on their tasks.
• Safety First: Distractions can impact the dog's performance and the safety of their handler.
• Personal Boundaries: Service dog teams deserve the same respect and privacy as anyone else.
🤝 Starting a Conversation the Right Way If you want to engage with a service dog handler, here’s a respectful approach:
1. Ask Before You Pet: Always ask the handler for permission before interacting with their service dog.
2. Be Patient: Understand that the handler might need to focus on their dog or their tasks.
3. Respect Privacy: Sometimes, the best way to show respect is to simply admire the team from a distance.
Let’s help create a supportive and respectful environment for all service dog teams! 🌟🐶

Having a cat that eliminates outside the litter box is stressful for both the cat and the caretaker. The good news is that there are simple ways to prevent this behavior or attempt to fix an already present problem. Below are some tips on how to make the litterbox a safe place for your cat. Remember that the litterbox is not just a toileting area but also a place where your cat establishes his or her territory to feel secure in their environment.

Today kicks off Deaf Dog Awareness Week, which is always observed on the last full week of September. While much of what I do every day involves educating and raising awareness about deaf (and/or blind dogs), this is a special week that is widely celebrated by those who love deaf dogs.

How can you celebrate Deaf Dog Awareness Week?

Celebrate the deaf and hard of hearing dogs in your life!

Learn about the signs of hearing loss - dogs can lose their hearing due to age, injury, infection, or other reasons. Know what to watch for.

Learn some new hand signals to use with your dog. It can be handy for all dogs to learn some hand signals, not only deaf dogs!

Help out a shelter or rescue that supports adoption of deaf dogs - volunteer, get to know a deaf dog, or contribute financially or in other ways.

Adopt a deserving deaf dog! Ask questions to ensure that this dog will be a great fit for your family and lifestyle.

Follow my page for more ideas and information about deaf (and/or blind) dogs.

Reach out to me if you’d like to talk more about deaf dogs, or if you have specific questions. I’m always happy to help!
