Hey poodle people! Here's a handsome boy for you in the Charlottesville area.
Meet Gene, a 4-year-old Standard Poodle with a quirky, lovable personality and a lot of charm. He’s house-trained, crate-trained, and ready to find a forever home that understands his unique mix of independence and playfulness.
Gene is happiest when he has other dogs to romp with, as he thrives on canine companionship. He’s a social butterfly with dogs and enjoys a good game of chase, barking along to share his excitement. He’s a polite and gentle soul, but he values his personal space, making him best fit for families with older children who can respect his boundaries.
He did wonderfully meeting strangers at an adoption event and was even patient with small kids petting him. At home, he’s more independent, enjoying naps, chewing on bones, and keeping an eye on the neighborhood from his favorite window. Gene also loves car rides and is always up for an adventure, whether it’s a walk, hike, or just exploring new places.
While Gene is non-shedding, he requires regular brushing and professional grooming to keep his coat looking its best. He’s not a fan of being brushed at home, so more frequent trips to the groomer may be needed to keep him comfortable.
Gene would thrive in a home with other dogs who respect his boundaries and can join him in his playful antics. He’s also great with older kids who understand when he needs his space. If you’re looking for a curious, goofy, and sweet pup who loves to play but also values his independence, Gene might just be the perfect fit for your family.
Ready to meet this happy-go-lucky poodle? Gene is waiting to bring his unique blend of fun and charm to his forever family! 🐾
