Wilbur and I went on a mindful walk this morning. We focused on our connection, breathing and I practiced using the 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 grounding technique.
5 things you can see
4 things you can touch
3 things you can hear
2 things you can smell
1 things you can taste
The 5-4-3-2-1 grounding exercise is a mindfulness technique that helps to calm the mind and focus on being in the present moment. It can be particularly useful if you are anxious, stressed or overwhelmed. It involves using the five senses to identify specific details in your surroundings.
We notice a positive shift in the equines when clients practice this with them.
