Good morning from Mama Proper and crew!! This is a perfect example of why foster homes are needed for pregnant and nursing cats. Yes, we don't need any more kittens, but when they are here, they need to be indoors and in a safe place with their mamas so that they can be raised right and adopted into loving homes, and mama cats can get spayed and adopted out as well. We currently have over 50 mama cats in our foster and shelter program right now, and about 8 or 10 more that need to come into a foster home . If you can help, please click on the link below to sign up to become a foster. We hope you enjoy this wonderful day! Truerescue.org/foster
MEDICAL FOSTER NEEDED! Mt. Juliet, TN. we took in this sweet male cat along with another pregnant cat that was on the same property. This wound is all the way down to the bone, and requires flushing with water twice a day plus antibiotics. He does very well with the treatment. If you can foster please click on the link below these cases are coming in daily, so we always have cats or kittens that need fostering. We also have eight pregnant/nursing cats awaiting foster as well. Please help if you can, or share so that others might be able to step up that live in our area. Thank you so much for supporting us! truerescue.org/foster. truerescue.org/donate
URGENT CASE, AND VIDEO IS GRAPHIC! Titus was rushed to us today after being found under a house with string tightly wound around his back leg. It was discovered to have come from a tarp that he likely became entangled in. The string was detached from the tarp, though we don't know how long he was entangled before the string broke or was chewed off, and his entire foot is barely hanging on. We have rushed him to our friends at Animal Medical Center in Murfreesboro, TN, and we are asking for donations to go towards his care. They are going to be keeping him for 48 hours while tending to the foot and cleaning necrotic tissue, and because so young, he will not get his entire leg amputated until older, and only if needed. He might just be a pegleg kitty unless further amputation is decided upon. Titus is one of dozens of medical cases that we have taken in this month, and his cost alone will likely be in the thousands. Titus is around 4 1/2-5 weeks old, but only weighs .88 pounds, so he is severely underweight. If you are able to donate to his care, the link is below. If you are able to foster Titus, or any other medical/urgent need cases, the foster link is below as well. Thank you so much for your help, and for allowing us to say yes to these critical cases that come in at a moment's notice. Titus is in great hands now, and hopefully on the road to a full recovery!

Rough Kitten Intake!
We received a really tough intake of three kittens that were pulled from the ground in Murfreesboro, TN, and two of their siblings were still at large when we received these three. We now have all five siblings under our care as of yesterday. This is a typical video of how we handle intakes, and one of the reasons that we feed first rather than tend to the eyes or other issues, is because when they come in starving like this, they are so frantic for food that it is very difficult to treat them medically until we can get them satiated. These little babies were certainly grateful for the food and ultimately to be able to see again. They are in a wonderful foster home right now, and we will announce them when they are ready for adoption. Thank you for supporting our rescue, as we continue to pull kittens like these off of the ground on a daily basis. If you are able to foster kittens like these, please fill out our foster form at the link below, and we will be in touch. truerescue.org/foster
Meet Mama Thelma (grey/white) and Mama Louise! These two besties were housed together at Muhlenberg County Humane Society and were transported here on Monday, with another mama kitty which we will announce soon. Mama Thelma's babies are just under four weeks old, while mama Louise's babies are just starting to open their eyes. All are very healthy and happy to be housed in a very large foster room together. Speaking of which, we need fosters! We really do! We are facing another wave of pregnant and nursing mamas coming into the shelter, and we currently have three that need immediate housing and more on a waiting list. If you were able to open up a spare bedroom to one of them, you would be saving lives, and certainly could enjoy all of this cuteness as well.
True rescue is located in Mount Juliet, Tennessee, and if you are close by and have the ability to foster and to bring them back-and-forth for medical vaccines, checkups and adoption events, please click on the link below, and we will get back to you as soon as possible. We can't thank you enough for your support of our rescue. The total number of animals under our care currently is 478.

End of Day Hissypantz!
This Hissypantz was found in a storm drain in Hermitage, TN and brought to the True Rescue shelter. There were no other siblings found, so we have bunked him in with a five-pack of misfits from other litters that together we hope will form one big happy family. Meet Mama Proper and her SEVEN kittens, born yesterday. Mama Proper has a sister, Mama Prim, who came into us weeks ago and was moved into a foster home. Mama Proper only just arrived to us last week. Turns out, they were both in labor at the same time, and BOTH gave birth to 7 kittens just hours apart from each other. We don't plan on putting them together right now, as both mamas are extremely hormonal and reactive to anyone coming into their space, or leaving their space, so we'll just let them be where they are right now. This outcome would be looking totally different right now, as both came off of a terrible property, and both extremely thin, though full-term pregnant. Though the world does not need more kittens right now, we are thankful all are safe and healthy, and we will be able to stop the cycle of both mamas and babies with spay/neuter. Welcome to the world, Proper Babies!
This sweet tiny girl was rushed to us after being pulled off of a pier post at Cedar Creek Marina in our own Mt. Juliet, TN. She ate very well and is being looked over by a vet now. Her ears were so full of algae, so we were worried that there could be damage if we don't get them cleaned out quickly. We will keep you updated on this adorable kitten, who we have named Pier. We appreciate so much the lengths that this man took to get Pier out of the water and into safety, and we will make sure this will never happen again to her. The area was scoured and no other kittens found.
Mama Sunshine just gave birth to 6 healthy kittens! We are facing another wave of pregnant/nursing moms, and we have many waiting on placement in True Rescue. We are trying to get as many in our rescue as possible, and off the ground, in order to ensure spay/neuter takes place after kittens are weaned. If you are able to foster a full-term pregnant or nursing mama cat, there is a link below to sign up for our foster program. Thank you so much! truerescue.org/adoptable-pets
Mt. Juliet, TN. These five neonate kittens were brought in today from Antioch, TN after their mom was killed by an owl. Sadly, this happens more often than one would think. They are very hungry, and we have a bottle feeder coming now to get them. We continue to be in need of bottle feeders, and fosters for pregnant and nursing mama cats. We are going through another bad wave of kitten intakes right now. We have surpassed 450 animals in our care, mostly cats and kittens. If you could help by fostering, please click the link at truerescue.org/foster.
Anudder hissypantz cawt in da twap dis time!
Video footage of yesterday's intake of an 8-9 week old kitten with FOUR EARS! This is an extremely rare genetic mutation and is completely harmless. We decided to name this kitten, Audio, because he has built-in surround-sound speakers! It's just another day at True Rescue in Mt. Juliet, TN!
Mama Infinity Gives Birth!
Mama Infinity was actually a trapped cat that went to a foster home, because turns out she was the sweetest kitty. She was full-term pregnant, and gave birth to EIGHT kittens last week...yes, EIGHT! Our foster says that all are doing great so far, and mama is handling them like the champ that she is. She didn't ask for her situation, but she is owning it, as are we.
We continue to keep the road hot to the spay/neuter clinic that we use, which is CASA, out in Columbia, TN. It is a far drive, but worth it, and they accommodate only rescues like us. We could not be more grateful to them for their professionality, their wonderful vet team, and allowing us to inundate the schedule weekly. Mama Infinity will be on the list soon, but for now she will be the best mama she can be. This is a big colorful pile of kittens, and we are so grateful they were born in a safe place with lots of love and support around them. If you turn the number 8 sideways, it forms the infinity symbol, so that's how mama got her name! Have a wonderful Sunday, and thank you for your continued support!
We are on Hissypantz Patrol with this new set of kittens! They came from Antioch, TN, and the little spitfire you see here was cut out of a wall by the Fire Dept. after crying for 5 days straight. So no wonder she is on the cranky side! They were fed for a few days, then brought to us today for intake. We are estimating them to be just over four weeks old, so they are at a foster home and should be ready to adopt in a few weeks.
In all the chaos of the flooding, we forgot the birth announcement of Mama Charmin and her 6 new babies, born early Monday morning! We still have an intake list of pregnant/nursing cats that need foster, including Mama Charmin here, so this is a longer commitment, depending on the age of the kittens. If you are able to help with fostering, please click on the link below to help. Thanks so much, and welcome to the world, tiniest of babies!

Mt. Juliet, TN This is the second night now and we are flooding again, this time much worse. We got everything under control yesterday and we really appreciate all of the public support that has poured in. However, we need physical help over here with shop, vacs, towels, fans, sandbags, whatever anybody has on hand to help. If not, we are going to be raising funds to redo our drainage system, which is going to be very costly. We have probably lost most of the cat towers and furniture in our building, so if you can contribute financially in anyway, we would really appreciate it. We have over 400 cats and kittens under our care, with over 250 of those in our physical shelter that is flooding. All cats have access to higher ground with all the cat towers and ledges and second floor space, so everybody is OK. The link is below if you can donate. Our shelter address is 12110 Lebanon Rd. in Mount Juliet, TN. Thank you so much for your support!
Cora just arrived at our shelter! She was found in Hermitage, TN wandering around the South Point Apartments on June 28th. The finder took her in and has had her for about 10 days now, posted everywhere trying to find the owner and no one has come forward. We are going to hang onto her a while longer while we try to find the owner, otherwise she will be up for adoption.
Cora has a spay tattoo, no microchip, and seems to be in relatively good shape, other than her ears. Judging by her teeth, she is a younger cat. We thought she was declawed, but there are a few claw nubs that we can feel, her claws were cut really, really short, probably when she was last groomed.Cora is the sweetest cat. She hasn't even thrown one hiss or raised one paw being around the other cats in our clinic. We will keep everybody updated when she is ready for adoption. For now, we appreciate the support so much. We don't know for sure that Cora was dumped, but there is an epidemic right now that is on the rise, of people losing their homes, or moving to places that don't accept animals, or just being out of options. With the rescues being so full, so many have resorted to just dumping their animals, and hoping for the best. If not for Good Samaritans picking these animals up and doing the right thing, there would be far more dire outcomes. Thank you for your ongoing support, as we continue to be bursting at the seams, with over 400 animals under our care. if you can donate towards our cars, we are including a donation link below. Things are hopping around here with adoptions, so we love our full circle rescue! Have a wonderful Sunday!

More hissypantz babies, and one of them threw paws!
Good morning! Meet soon-to-be Mama Prim!Prim was pulled off of a property in Mt.Juliet, TN, where cats were left behind to fend for themselves. Because she was about to pop, we got her off right away, thanks to a neighbor that has been feeding and watching over them since their owner left.
This sweet cat could not be more grateful to have a safe space. Right now, that space is a large bathroom, because that is all we have available at our shelter and office house space. We have 5 immediate needs for foster homes, and all are either pregnant or nursing cats. If you have a room available for 6-8 weeks, we sure could use the help! We won't leave cats like this on the ground, we just won't, but we are going to be having issues if we don't find more fosters. To apply, there is a link included below, and we will get back with you shortly. Thank you for the unwavering support during this difficult kitten season. Please no comments about spay/neuter....we ALL get it here, the lack of spay/neuter is the problem! However, if we were to leave cats like this out there, they would have kittens, and if they lived, which would be difficult, then they would reproduce, and so on and so forth. We do our best to educate wherever we can, and we have over 400 cats and kittens in our care that were pulled right off of the ground in order to stop the cycle. If a female cat is full-term and healthy, then we allow the kittens to be born. We will continue in this realm as long as we have the resources, adoptions, and foster homes to help with this. Thank you again for your support!
