🐾 Hi, I’m Blade! 💙

Hey there, friends! My name is Blade, and I’ve got a little secret: I’m looking for someone special to foster me so I can really come out of my shell and be the best version of myself.

I’ve been at MJ Animal Care & Control for a while now—262 days, to be exact—and while everyone here takes great care of me, the shelter can feel pretty overwhelming sometimes. I know there’s a softer, goofier, happier side of me just waiting to shine in a cozy, quiet home.

Here’s a bit about me:
🐶 I’m a handsome guy with the coolest name ever.
😎 I’m super smart and love learning new things.
🐱 Cats? Nope, not my thing.
🐕 Other dogs? I do okay, but I’d rather be your one and only star.

🐾 Meet Arnold: From Streets to Snuggles! 🐾

Tiny but mighty—that’s Arnold, our little Chihuahua with a heart as big as Tennessee. 💛

Arnold’s journey hasn’t been easy. This brave boy was found wandering the streets of Mt. Juliet, all by himself, looking for someone to help him. Despite his small size, he was determined to keep going, hoping he’d find a safe place to rest his paws.

Since arriving at the shelter, Arnold has been charming everyone he meets. He’s got the classic Chihuahua s***k, a twinkle in his eye, and a tail that wags a mile a minute when he sees his favorite humans.

He’s discovered that laps are his happy place, and he’s perfected the art of giving the sweetest little kisses. Arnold may have started out alone, but he’s more than ready to share his life (and his big personality) with a forever family who’ll cherish him.

☀️ Summer Safety Alert: Protect Your Pets from Hot Cars! ☀️

As temperatures rise, it's crucial to remember: never leave your pets in a parked car, even for a short time. The interior of a car can heat up rapidly, posing serious risks to your furry friends.

Did you know?

On an 80°F (27°C) day, the inside of a car can reach 109°F (43°C) in just 20 minutes, and 123°F (51°C) within an hour.

Cracking the windows does not significantly slow down the temperature increase.

Pets can suffer from heatstroke or even death in a matter of minutes under these conditions.

What to do if you see an animal in a hot car:

Call 911 or your local animal control immediately.

Note the vehicle's details: make, model, color, and license plate.

Stay by the vehicle until help arrives.

Velma and Daphne stole our hearts the moment we found them — two sweet souls wandering the streets of Mt. Juliet, all by themselves. At least they had each other for comfort in a world that suddenly seemed so uncertain.

These gentle girls quickly showed us just how loving and kind they are, winning over everyone who met them. When it was time for their routine spay surgery, the vets discovered something unexpected: Velma and Daphne both have Atrial Fibrillation, a serious heart condition requiring extensive monitoring and specialized care.

Since then, they’ve undergone numerous tests, including EKGs and echocardiograms, and their medical bills have been piling up. While they face a lifetime of medication and care, their spirits remain strong — and their love for life is inspiring.

🐾 Meet Gibby: The Blue Heeler with Big Dreams! 💙

At just 5 months old, Gibby is already a little dynamo full of curiosity, loyalty, and charm. This Australian Cattle Dog (or Blue Heeler, if you prefer!) is as smart as he is adorable—and trust us, he’s very adorable.

Gibby was found with a heart full of hope and a nose ready for adventure. He’s the kind of pup who wants to be where the action is—whether that’s chasing a tennis ball, learning new tricks, or just following you from room to room like your fuzzy little shadow.

True to his breed, Gibby is clever, alert, and eager to please. He’d love an active home where he can run, play, and use that sharp little mind of his. Got a yard? He’ll zoom in it. Got treats? He’ll earn them. Got love? He’ll soak it up like sunshine.

Gibby does great with people and seems curious (but respectful!) around other dogs. He’s still a pup, so he’s learning the ropes—but with a patient, loving family, he’s going to make someone an incredible companion.
