I haven’t posted about this on Instagram and I wanted the ones who don’t have Facebook to know. One of my greatest friends lost her battle to cancer this past Sunday. Those of you who knew Amanda knew she was one of the kindest and most loving people you could know. Gentle yet sassy and didn’t take s**t, which is a great quality. For the last 20 years she has played such a massive role in my life, she’s been by my side during my darkest times and never gave up on me. She loved me for me without any question and she loved with every bit of her soul, she cared about everyone she crossed. She left an overwhelmingly positive impression on anyone she met, a true legacy. I was able to spend most of the week in the hospital with her during her final days and that I am eternally grateful for. I will forever cherish the many years we spent together. Duke is with me now and I will Continue to provide the best care possible for him. A piece of my soul was taken with you upon your departure. Your fight Is over, you can rest now my sweet friend.

Love always ❤️

I know these may seem small but these are huge for us. When I first brought Ned home he was untrustworthy around new people so he was muzzled in public a lot. He had bad manners, didn’t walk well on a leash, hated having his paws, ears and tail touched, I’m pretty certain he was beaten by his previous guardian so we had a lot of work to do. As most know I take him pretty much every where I can with me, socialize socialize socialize. We worked on obeisance and manners everyday, learning each other, gaining trust and forming a bulletproof relationship. offered to come out on a Sunday to evaluate Ned for canine good citizen test. I was a bit nervous but we have been working hard for this certification so we gave it a go. Not only did Ned pass CGC but he passed urban CGC and novice trick dog. I can’t explain how proud I am of him. I need to thank for showing me the way, I would not be here without you. Also to and from for amazing information on their podcast. And pick up the book “E collar without conflict” written by eric stanbro on Amazon, it’s been a bible for me lately. Armin from for our monthly zoom calls and my friends at Morris county sheriff K9 that have giving me guidance along the way. I appreciate all of you, I want to thank Kaitlyn for coming out on a Sunday to evaluate my boy, you were an absolute pleasure to work with. On to our next big goal of PSA 1 with the help of and

get a lot of compliments on Ned’s muzzle but I also get some wise ass comments from people who unfortunately judge before trying to educate themselves and understand. Ned is a 2 year old Belgian malinois rescue, we are still learning each other and I think he has had a troubled past. Ned is very sweet and obedient but can be reactive at times and becomes a bit unpredictable. I pay attention to his body language and it has shown me that he still doesn’t trust certain people and random dogs who approach him quickly. I take a lot of time to work with him and I put him in situations that will help him gain confidence. The muzzle is not cruel, it’s a tool and it is there for his protection… not yours. “Why would you bring an aggressive muzzled dog to a crowded place?” For one, don’t assume he’s aggressive and for you to think it’s fair to just leave him in the house and never take him anywhere is ridiculous. That statement is for lazy people who are unwilling to put the time and work in to help the animal. If you don’t know and are unwilling to learn, keep your ignorant comments to yourself. We are a team and we both work very hard to become better versions of ourselves, you should do the same

I’d like to start putting some feelers out for fosters. I’m looking for some caring and willing people to take in shepherds and malinois while I figure out how to acquire a kennel either on my property or elsewhere. Experience with these breeds or common knowledge about the breeds (mainly mals) is preferred. The goal is to be taking these dogs out of unsafe backyard breading and euthanization situations. We will be working with other trainers while I work on becoming certified myself. Once these dogs are trained, they will be donated to veterans free of charge as a companion to cope with PTSD and other mental struggles. There will be other adoption opportunities but we would need to train you as well 😂. The non profit should be full steam ahead in 2024, I’m truly blessed to have some amazing people working with me to make this dream a possibility. I also want to thank the ones who have been supportive and motivating. I greatly appreciate all of you. Here’s to Donuts Warrior Fund 2024

The time is almost here for the hike for spike!

Spike gave his all to protect his humans. We strive to honor him in all that we do. You can help protect more K9s in his memory this year. On December 23rd, a one-mile hike, walk, run, whatever you want, wherever you are. The Hike with Spike honors his sacrifice and his legacy on the anniversary of his death, giving us a moment to focus and reflect on his sacrifice and why we are here today. By registering to hike you are making sure we continue to carry on his memory through the dogs we work to save each day.

Register to hike at the link in our bio or by going to spikesk9.org/2023hikewithspike

Jimmy's Motivation:
"I think about Spike. Just the little nuances of his character. He was super driven, he didn't ever quit. Towards the end of the deployment, the 23rd of December, some things went a little bit sideways. I sent him after a guy. The guy started fighting him. I put some bullets into the guy. One of the bullets went through the human and into Spike..."
-Jimmy, Founder

We hope that you will join us, wherever you are, in taking a mile to honor and reflect on Spike’s life and his sacrifice.

My favorite part of this season is getting together with people who share the same passion as I do when it comes to giving to the less fortunate. With a total of almost $2,000 of food and toys purchased for children tonight! All the cool and expensive things that I could buy will never compare to how this makes me feel. I’m glad to see there’s still some good souls out there. It was a great night with the crew.
