This week we celebrated our Boarding Driector, Taylor's S-I-X year anniversary here at Park West Veterinary! Taylor originally started as a daycare attendent at STAY! At Park West Vet and has grown into our wonderful Boarding Director. She is especially skilled in handling and body language which shows when she works with our more scared and anxious pets as she advocates and is able to be their voice during staycations and appointments. Taylor brings such a light to our team with great critical thinking skills as well as a silly goofy attitude that keeps our days positive. We could not imagine not having Taylor on our team. Happy Anniversary!

The 4th of July is right around the corner and that means the fireworks and festivities are too. Make sure your pets are prepared for the Holiday with their medications. We want to extend a BIG thank you to Crème de la Crème for inviting us to come talk to the kids two weeks ago! Dr. Harasim, one of our LVTs Ann and Evie had so much fun visiting their beautiful school to show all the kiddos what a Veterinarian does while using Evie as their demonstration pup! Each kid also got to take home their very own stethoscope! Again, thank you Crème de la crème for inviting us in and letting us spend time with you guys.

Next shout out is to Dr. Decker during Veterinarian Appreciation Week! Dr. Decker is hard to miss with her kind approach and bubbly personality! Dr. Decker is our Holistic Vet and offers services like acupuncture and medical manipulation to our Patients. She is currently in the process of starting a social medica platform for healthy mindsets of Veterinarians and Pet Parents called The Zen Vet. Dr. Decker's favorite part of Veterinary Medicine is the relationships with Patients and their Owners which is evident when you see her interact during her appointments. A fun fact about Dr. Decker is her favorite restaurant is Sorelle and if she could have a month long get away it would be to The Sanctuary on Kiawah. Dr. Decker is such a light to us here at Park West Veterinary and we appreciate daily everything she brings to our clinic!

Now it is time to spotlight our very own fashionista who is easily identifiable by the sound of heels clicking down the hallways, Dr. Mercedes! She is originally from New York but decided the beach life was more her speed and joined the team at Park West Veterinary! Dr. Mercedes provides such a quality of care for our Patients while also establishing such a strong relationship with our Clients. In her free time she enjoys going to the beach or squeezing in a quick walk with her sweet beagles. A fun fact about her is she has swam in the Amazon River and lucky for us, the piranahs spared her! We enjoy every day we get with Dr. Mercedes and hope you do too!

Next up to appreciate is Dr. Butler. If you have been to Park West Veterinary, chances are you are familiar with Dr. Butler. Originally from Georgia, Dr. Butler was one of the owners with Dr. Goldsmith and is still a part Owner today! Our patients and clients love Dr. Butler and his gentle approach to our anxious pets during his appointments as well as he always provides good conversation! Which makes his favorite part of Veterinary Medicine being the relationships he develops with our Clients. When Dr. Butler is not at work you can find him at a track meet or traveling around with his family. A fun fact about him is he has been to ALL 50 STATE! Dr. Butler is the best and we couldn't imagine not having him at Park West Veterinary!

Today we spotlight Dr. Harasim, often known for her calm demeanor and the compassion she provides for her patients and their Owners. Dr. Harasim is from Michigan and also did some of her schooling for Veterinary Medicine on St. Kitts! She also is one of our two Doctors who performs the laparoscopic procedures! If you see Dr. Harasim, you also have seen Evie, her sweet black lab that has become the emotional support pup at our clinic for our team. A fun fact about Dr. Harasim is she is scuba certified and has dove with sharks! We appreciate Dr. Harasim and everything she brings to Park West Veterinary so be sure to tell her if you see her in the clinic or underwater!

Next up for Veterinary Appreciation Week is.... Dr. Mauer! Dr. Mauer is originally from a small town in Indiana so it is no surprise she is a lover of horses and equestrian sports. She is most commonly seen taking care of our usual cat and dog patients but she is also one of our exotic Doctors who sees rats, bearded dragons and more! When Dr. Mauer is not at work she is more than likely taking care of her donkey, riding horses or spending time with her sweet pup, Chat. We appreciate Dr. Mauer daily and the compassion she brings to Park West Veterinary!

The super Vet of the day today is Dr. Schmidt! Dr. Schmidt is one of our Doctors who does it all! On top of seeing your every day patients, he also see exotics like snakes and lizards. Dr. Schmidt is also one of our two Doctors who preforms Laparoscopic procedures, where the procedure is done internally using a camera and small instruments through small incisions. If Dr. Schmidt isn't at work you can find him playing beach volleyball, adopting older dachshunds or trying a new drink on a plane! We appreciate Dr. Schmidt and all of the knowledge he brings to Park West Veterinary!

This week we are celebrating our Doctors with Doctor Appreciation Week! Each day we will spotlight one of our wonderful Veterinarians who contributes to a large reason of who we are today. Starting with Dr. Brogie- Dr. Brogie previously was a Veterinarian in the military and is who you will see taking care of most of our working breeds that come in for appointments! When Dr. Brogie is not at work you will most likely find her on the pickle ball court or training her new German Shepherd, Riggins . If you were ever wanting to play ice hockey with Dr. Brogie- watch out! She played ice hockey in high school and got a 4 minute major penalty during a game. We love Dr. Brogie and appreciate her every day!
