2015 American Saddlebred Gelding For Sale

This horse exhibits exceptional sweetness, curiosity, and a willingness to learn. I took him in as a resale project in 2017 with the intention of training him. Although he is technically rideable, he remains somewhat unrefined and would benefit from the guidance of an experienced individual. Unfortunately, I have not had the time to complete his training and he is too capable to be a decorative pasture ornament.

He stands slightly shorter than the typical saddlebred at just under 15 hands, but he possesses the mind and heart of a much larger animal. As the saying goes, 'big things come in small packages.' Despite his relatively small stature, he has immense potential. He always gives his best effort and strives to please.

Hate to let him go but, he deserves way more than what I can give him at this time... Let my loss be your gain!

How exactly is this funny? This is clearly a habit of unacceptable behavior that the rider has allowed him to do time and time again... She is putting not only herself at risk but, more importantly her horse! A horse should NEVER be allowed to roll around with a saddle on as that is just a disaster waiting to happen.

Did you know that some horses will absolutely NEVER be beginner type horses? It isn't a reflection of their intelligence or the quality of their training foundation, either.

All horses should not be expected to be or end up as suitable for new riders. Many of the best horse people would be horrified if that happened, actually.

Frequently, the highest level of performance horses with the most value in the industry remain, for their lives, above the ability of the average horse owner. Somehow, some of us have the thought in our heads that suggests that the easiest to ride and handle horses are the best.

That isn't accurate! Those horses are just suitable for a certain type of rider: those with no or limited skill, or sometimes with a previous injury or fear. It is a particular niche. It isn't a requirement all horses need to meet.

Additionally, no trainer can turn all horses into bomb-proof, newbie-friendly horses. We have to try harder to allow a horse to be who he is and work within the bounds of what is actually best and possible for each horse.

I want to thank all my students/clients for being so patient and understanding with me. The past two months have been crazy and its still pretty far from over but, I'm hoping that by the end of next month I'll be back doing what I love as we finish moving into our new location!

With Summer literally just around the corner the temperatures undoubtedly increasing, I just wanted to take a moment to remind both my students and clients that we do not ride our horses in temperatures that could harm them.
I will attach the rule-of-thumb that I follow below.

I've lost a few clients/stundents over the years to canceling because of heat but it's better for the horse and as an animal advocate (a "job" I take way more seriously than any job I actually get paid for), I refuse to risk not only my horses but, any horse's health for sport or pleasure!

So please keep temps in mind when scheduling lessons and training sessions. Know that early mornings are always better than late nights for them. And if it does get too hot, know that canceling is the best thing for the both of you. Thank you!

Attention All Trail Riding Enthusiasts! If you're in the market looking for a nice trail horse then look no more, we got just the horse for you! Big things come in small packages never rang so true as with this little horse! Sissy is a beautiful 1995 solid bay paint mare and is the kind of horse that you don’t want to overlook. She is a tiny little horse standing only 14.2 hands but she has more heart than any horse I have ever known and is a pleasure to be around both on the ground and under saddle. She has no vices or issues to speak of. She ties, loads, bathes, and stands for farrier/vet with ease! Sissy is also one of the prettiest mares you will see; she has tons of eye appeal and presence. Don’t let her age fool you, she may be 20yrs old but, she is a real fun ride, a pack up and go kind of horse! This mare is a super cute mover, soft collected gaits and smooth lead changes and can really stride out as well with a lovely flat knee and soft natural head carriage. She is exceptionally broke, easily leg yields and moves off pressure. Sissy is a 10+ mover and has a ton of miles under her belt, has been trail ridden extensively everywhere from Smith Lake to Marrow Mountain and Love Valley and has been on wagon trains and taken camping over night and tied out on a picket line! This mare will go out on trails alone or in a group. She crosses roads, water, downed trees, bridges and any other obstacle with incredible ease! She is a joy to ride, no bucking or rearing, and always light in the bridle and willing to please. Sissy can be ridden Bareback, Western, and even English! Sissy is very safe and quiet for any level of rider and has proven this by being used in our riding lessons program; however I would personally suggest an intermediate to advanced rider that can hold their seat on such a powerful horse as this mare is light, responsive and has buttons. She is as quiet and sane as they come in general, she is just A LOT OF HORSE and very athletic for her age. I

The Heartfelt Program was born out of necessity! Like so many other horse lovers, Catherine has experienced what it is like to be frustrated, angry, and feeling like a failure. That is why she invites you to join her and discover a different path through Natural Horsemanship. Heartfelt Horsemanship accepts horses in for training in limited quantities when schedule space is available. Specializing in starting young horses as well as tune ups and problem solving, Catherine’s natural based techniques are applied as the foundation for well rounded horses. She believes in instilling solid work ethic in our horses to make them reliable and fool proof mounts. With 10+ years of professional experience of working with a variety of breeds, sizes and age of all equines she guarantees results.

All breeds and disciplines can benefit from this foundation program. Young or old horses, it is never too late to correct holes in their foundation that have been missed. Often times problems such as bucking, spooking, bolting, kicking, etc. are symptoms of “holes”. At the end of the day safety is the key. Catherine feels that her methods are easy for both the horse and rider to understand. Her main goal for her clients is success. It is her passion to help make your dreams come true and wants you and your horse to leave with a “tool box” of knowledge that can get you further to achieving new wonders and be able to tackle any obstacle as they arise.
