Aren’t seeing your match in the shelter? Explore our Virtual Rehoming page to discover incredible pets actively looking for caring individuals! By utilizing the online resource Home To Home™, potential adopters are able to view animals out in the community who are in need of new families. This allows the animals to search for an adopter from the comfort of their current home, plus it leaves more room at the shelter for animals who don't already have an advocate.
All listings contain information from the current owners whom you’ll work with directly to find out more about the animal’s personality, ideal living situation, and to coordinate adoption.
If you're looking for a new best friend, be sure to bookmark this link: www.wihumane.org/virtual-rehoming. Choose “Seeking a new pet,” then click on the photo gallery to view the full list of available animals ❤️

We wanted to brighten your Friday with some good news on the senior sweetheart we introduced you to last week… this 11lb cutie is doing well and looking – and feeling – better than ever thanks to your support! Spoofy is currently spending his days in a loving foster home where he continues his healing journey with specially formulated baths and medication. He has a few more weeks of treatment left before he'll be ready for a home of his own, but has come so far since the day we met him.

Today, Spoofy is safe, warm, and feeling so much better because of caring people like you ❤️ We are so grateful, thank you!

Is your dog brilliant at home but shuts down in class or in new environments? Do they bark at people or dogs? Do they seem generally stressed? 👀
You'll benefit from attending Dr. Amy Cook's Play-Way 2-day workshop in Racine!
📅 Reserve your ticket before January 31 to take advantage of our 15% early bird discount! Prices go up on February 1.

Dr. Amy has established a rehabilitation process that revolves around personal, social play, rather than focusing mainly on treat/food-based rewards system. She believes play is a reliable method of judging a dog’s true behavioral thresholds, while being effective at supporting a dog to make emotional change. The Play Way is Dr. Amy Cook’s method of helping shy and fearful dogs overcome these issues to live a happier, less-stressed life.
For information about the workshop schedule and other resources, visit our website: https://wihumane.me/DrCookWorkshop

*About our speaker: Dr. Cook is an International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC) Certified Dog Behavior Consultant, a longstanding professional member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT), and was one of the first trainers nationally to become a Certified Professional Dog Trainer through independent evaluation.

With the snow here and a cold snap heading our way in a few days, we want to share this tip in advance, just in case! ❄️
Doggie bathroom breaks can already be brutal in the winter and get even worse when temperatures plummet. 🥶 If you can find straw (not hay) at a local farm or a garden supply store, now would be a good time to snag a bale. A little goes a long way when spread in a small area of your yard. It can preserve your pup’s paws for a few valuable extra minutes during dangerously low temps, then covers any mud in the spring thaw!

Spoofy was running loose on the side of the road when some Good Samaritans came together to help him find his way to WHS. His fur was thinning across his body and missing entirely on his chest and stomach, all revealing red, itchy, highly inflamed skin. His condition was severe and his prognosis was heavily guarded.
For the past several weeks, this 8-year-old lovebug has been receiving a variety of medications, specially formulated baths, and an ongoing host of treatments. While his fur hasn't started to regrow much thus far, his skin has drastically improved and he's got to be feeling so much better. ❤️
We can’t be certain when he will be ready for a family of his own, but in the meantime, he could really use your support. Whether you can donate $5 or $50, every single donation makes an impact for Spoofy and the hundreds of other animals across the organization who are currently receiving medical treatment at WHS. To make a gift of any size, you can use the Donate button below or visit https://wihumane.me/SupportSpoofy.
Thank you so much! 🤍

Our Story

The Wisconsin Humane Society is an independent non-profit working locally in the Racine, Saukville, Milwaukee, Sturgeon Bay, and Green Bay communities to help animals and the people who love them. WHS doesn't receive any general government funding, nor is WHS affiliated with any national organizations like ASPCA, HSUS, or PETA, so donors like you make a huge difference in the lives of local pets!
