✨Help Needed! ✨

It’s a beautiful day to volunteer! We are short staffed this morning and have so many wonderful animals to care for. Can you come for an hour and walk some pups? 🐶 Or maybe scoop some litter boxes? 🐱 We are here at 8am and clean until noon!

We’d sure appreciate all the extra help we can get! ❤️

This sweetheart was brought in today from near 805 S. Alter Ct. in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. She is spayed and has a microchip but it hasn't been enrolled so cannot find owner that way. I'm currently living my best life at AGC, where I get to hang out with tons of awesome friends and, of course, enjoy some delicious food! 🍽️ BUT, there's a serious crisis happening right now... we're almost out of my FAVORITE food-WET FOOD! 😱 It's a full-on emergency over here, and I need your help! Please send all the wet food you can. 🥺💕”

🐾 Flynn and Crimson have found their forever home together! 🎉❤️ AND we have already received an update!

“These guys are the best! They are so inquisitive they've really enjoyed checking out every inch of the place. They're always up for a snuggle and they love to play with feather toys and puff balls. They also love bird watching and chirping at them. They've gotten my other kitty to play again after losing his friend. They are also suckers for treats/food.”

These two were with us for quite a while, alongside Amy, as some of our longest-term residents. When they first came to us, they were dealing with severe eye infections, upper respiratory issues, and were pretty wary of people. But thanks to time, care, and patience, we’ve watched them grow from shy, sickly kittens into the confident, loving cats they are today. 🌟

We’re beyond grateful that they get to go home together, and so thankful for their incredible foster who helped them through their hardest days and generously sponsored their adoption fee, making this moment possible.

Flynn and Crimson, we can’t wait to see all the love and happiness you’ll bring to your new family. ❤️🐾

With the influx of animals these past few weeks we have some catching up to do with our adoption pics! 💕

We are starting with our longest resident, Amy! 🐱❤️ She has been waiting patiently for over a year and finally found her purrfect fit a few weeks ago!

It’s strange without her here, but so incredibly beautiful that she is home. 🥰 Happy tails, Amy, and thank you for adopting!

🐾 It’s easy to make snap judgments about animals—especially dogs—based on first impressions. But every dog has a story, and sometimes, all they need is patience, trust, and a little time to feel safe.

When Gideon first came to AGC, he was unsure of us and very territorial of his space and his partner in crime, Kona. He didn’t know who to trust or how to feel comfortable in a new environment. Even something as small as petting him while he was in his kennel seemed an insurmountable challenge.

Now? Look at him! 🥹 With love, hard work, and consistency from team members like Stormy, Gideon is learning to relax, build confidence, and even have fun—one treat toss at a time. 💙

Every small step gets him closer to his forever home. Let’s keep showing them what love can do. 🐶✨

Also, HUGE shoutout to Crystal, who volunteers countless hours to work with our dogs! She has transformed all of our perceptions and helped so many of our dogs. She is out here truly saving lives. 💕
