We had a mini Christmas photoshoot yesterday! We have some new faces on our adoption floor that can't wait to meet you! We are still fee waived for all of our adoptable animals until the 23rd!

This sweet declawed, neutered, and microchipped senior came to us today. We were able to contact his original owner and learned that he is 9 years old. Unfortunately he had been rehomed about a month ago and we aren’t sure who his most recent owner is.

He was found in Swedesburg south of the Cemetery on Thanksgiving and his finder kept him safe, fed, and warm for the last few weeks. It seems like he was outside for a little while before his finder took him in as he’s quite underweight.

It is with careful consideration that we have decided to waive Wally's adoption fee through Dec. 23rd! Wally is our only dog in care and has been in foster care since June! We would love for him to have a permanent home by Christmas!

Wally has an adventurous spirit. He loves to explore and would make a great companion for someone who loves to do outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking, running, etc. He is quite affectionate and, although energetic, has such a soft, calm side that makes him the perfect cuddle buddy on cold days like today!

He has been through a lot in his life and would thrive with structure and a patient; confident owner who can help him build trust and consistency. He’s kennel-trained but has occasional potty accidents when feeling frustrated. He’s cautious with new people and would do best in a quieter environment with slow introductions. While he’s friendly through the fence with one of his foster’s dogs, Wally would do best as an only dog or possibly with the right, mellow canine friend, and he’d prefer a cat-free home.

We know we might be searching for a unicorn home, but we also know that soon, the perfect person will meet Wally and fall in love, and we won't give up on him until he's with his forever humans.

As with all of our adoptions, we will be making sure Wally doesn't end up just anywhere, we know what Wally needs in a home and we are dedicated to finding him one that can provide him everything he needs and more.

Wally's foster home is amazing and is able to provide Wally with everything he needs right now, except for a permanent home. We are so grateful with their patience in this process and willingness to keep Wally for such an extended period of time. ❤

When you walk in the door to our shelter, Lilo will be the very first cat you see. He has a very special suite in our lobby just for him. ❤ We've had Lilo in several places in the shelter, and he struggled greatly in each of them. While he was in foster, he got along with other cats and dogs with no issues. We would love to think that our shelter has very little stress, but that just isn't the case for Lilo.

The shelter is too much for him, he does not like to be around the other cats, and new people tend to frighten him at first (once he is attached to you, he is pretty much a dog, he likes to be by your side most of the time). Since he's moved into the lobby, we have seen his mood improve and his stress decrease a little, but what he really needs is a patient and loving home. He is adventurous, loving, quirky, and we'll be the first to admit...he's got a naughty streak. He loves to play and oftentimes, you will see him help us type emails, answer the phone, and even redecorate. He loves to sit or lay by the lobby door and watch the leaves blow by.

We know there is someone out there that will appreciate Lilo's quirks as much as we do and will love him for the cat he is. If you think that person might be you, contact us or stop by to see Lilo during our open hours!

If you sit down in our adoption room, many kittens and adult cats will race to be the first to greet you, but if you sit long enough, two very special cats will come to you, jump in your lap, and cuddle you the remainder of your visit.

Galaxy and Vega are two of our longest team kitties now. We have seen them grow and change from 2-week-old itty-bitties into the beautiful 8-month-old kittens they are today.

They were the first cats we welcomed into our new shelter building from their foster home and have since seen many kittens and cats come and go during their stay, including their 5 other siblings. They welcome new faces easily and are often the first to allow them into what some may call a "snuggle puddle".

While they aren't the type to come running to you right away, they are the type worth waiting for. We hope you'll come visit them and sit long enough to see what we mean. ❤

Our hours have been extended recently, and we are in the process of updating them everywhere. You can visit Galaxy, Vega, and all of our wonderful cats, Tuesday-Saturday from 1pm-4pm.

Primrose is off to join her sister Katniss in their new home! ❤️

Primrose and Katniss were named after the sisters in Hunger Games and they came in with their 4 other siblings! Coincidentally, these wonderful adopters didn’t pick these two just because of their names or because they were sisters!

Katniss and Primrose each chose them separately, during the hour they spent hanging out with our crew! We think this is just the perfect happily ever after for everyone involved. 💕🐾

Guess who went home together today!!! Buffy and Kruse! This lovely family became “empty nesters” a few years ago and decided now was a great time to adopt a pair of kitties. ❤️

It warms our hearts to see one of our longer term kitties (Kruse) go with another older kitten. 💕

Olive found a fantastic home with one of our long-term volunteers today! She came in to drop off a cat toy, picked up Olive, and that was it! Olive snuggled right in, purring, knowing she'd be home soon!❤️

Starting tomorrow, Friday, December 6th, through Monday, December 23rd, all adoption fees for our incredible cats and kittens are WAIVED! 🐾

For cats that have not yet been spayed or neutered at the time of adoption, we will schedule and cover the cost of the procedure. However, we do require a cash or check deposit of $50, which will be fully refunded once the spay/neuter is completed.
