Montgomery County Animal Shelter and Montgomery County Animal Control remain fully committed to working hand in hand with local law enforcement to protect the welfare and safety of animals throughout Montgomery County.
Together, we actively investigate and address cases of animal cruelty, neglect, and other illegal activities involving animals. Our goal is not only to ensure animals are treated humanely, but also to support the overall safety and well-being of our community.
We take this responsibility seriously and will continue to stand alongside our law enforcement partners to combat illegal activity and advocate for those who cannot speak for themselves.

R***r, formerly James, is off to his new life at the beach in Florida These boys are going to be the best of friends and have so many adventures, and I’m sure lots of flights. Thank you for trusting my boy to care for such a special pup, he’s been a dream since he’s been here with me. I promise he will take the best care of him and he will have an amazing life. We will send you updates.

The Montgomery County Animal Shelter will be closed Thursday and Friday this week in observance of the New Year’s holiday.
As 2025 comes to a close we would like to thank all of our supporters.
We could not help these animals without our adopters , fosters, rescuers.
If you donated to our shelter this past year in your time, monetary donations, toys, food , towels, blankets, kennels, we thank you.
We look forward to the new year and what we can accomplish with your support.

Guys, this is Fudge!
He is no stranger to the shelter. He was adopted from the shelter almost a year ago. Unfortunately he has returned due to no fault of his own.

Like so many of our dogs here he has a sad story. He has been dealt a very rough hand in his life and it’s just not fair. He is ready for a new beginning.

He is very playful and a tall dog! We believe he is a Labrador retriever mix. Goofy & sweet!

Fudge really needs a great home. If you could open your heart and home to him, we’d love to introduce you.

Paul was found as a stray and was very nervous and skinny when he came into the shelter a couple of months ago. Now he has gained weight and confidence! He has been such a great boy at the shelter.

We believe he is more than ready for his forever home! He is a beautiful black German shepherd who is fine with being lazy! He also loves to go on walks and explore the world outside of his kennel.
