Gateway Area Humane Society We have a heart for animals. In every community, in every state, there are homeless animals. In the U.S.

as a whole, there are an estimated 6-8 million homeless animals entering animal shelters every year. About half of these animals are adopted, and tragically, the other half are euthanized. These are healthy, sweet pets who would have made great companions. We strive to find as many of these homeless animals homes as possible as well as work toward helping the public spay and neuter their pets. By spaying and neutering your pet, you can be an important part of the solution.

RAFFLE TIME!! 🎟️

——> Maura and her family have reached out wanting to help out the place that took such great care of her while she was awaiting her forever home. Not only did Maura luck out with a loving home with other fur siblings, she got people who have a love for bbq and make homemade sauce. So together they have put together a basket of goodies for someone else to enjoy. Included in the basket is: BBQ sauce from Saven Grace, a $15 Kroger gift along with bbq utensils and a Gateway Humane Society Tee. Beautiful weather calls for a doggie outing. Willie got to break free from shelter life for a bit today and enjoy some park time. He ended the day with a treat, then headed back to tell all the others about his adventures.

We are always looking for volunteers of all sorts, with one of the things being to help socialize our dogs even more. Come break them out of shelter life for a few hours or so until they one day get a home of their own. If this is something you’d be interested in please go to our website and fill out a volunteer form. Willie is also up for adoption and is currently one of a few long term residents we still have. He is such a good boy. ❤️

Another happy ending. Merle and his siblings were surrendered to no fault of their own. Confused and scared, it took them a bit to warm up to everyone. But then they learned what love and lots of treats look like. We are happy to say that they have now all found their furever home, Merle was the last of the bunch waiting his turn. We wish Merle and his new family lots of cuddles and sweet memories.

Happy Friday! Just a few reminders: Our Coffee w/Cats event is canceled next week 😿 but will be back and running in September. Then join us tomorrow after the small town festival 🎊 Stop by The HUB to say hello, see about volunteer opportunities and if you donate an item to GAHS you’ll get a free coffee or ice cream. ☕️🍦Items we are currently in need of:
