It’s been quite a while so I thought I’d share a little introduction! First of all, if you’re new around here a big warm welcome! I’m so glad to have you as part of The Cheery Pet community.

My name is Jessi and together with my husband Travis we run this little cheer-filled operation! The business started with my hand painted dog and pet ornaments and now includes cards, mugs, and pet bandanas featuring my own fabric designs. I love creating products that help celebrate your love for your pets! 🐶💕🐱

A bit about me:

I’m a mom to four and grandma to two (I can’t believe that second part!!)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🎸I’m also a singer-songwriter and have released three albums. Music has been on hold for a bit, but I know I’ll get back to it one of these days! Just head to Spotify and search Jessi McNeal if you’d like to hear my music. My most recent album was actually featured on Billboard Music!

🇫🇷I’m fluent in French (it was my college major), and now that our kids are grown we are trying to go to Europe more often. We went in 2023 and prior to that I hadn’t been since 1996!!

🌴My other travel love is Hawaii! I’m the queen of a good budget trip, and on my most recent trip there I brought home the most amazing Purr-maid named Ariel from and ! We are obsessed with our sweet little Maui kitty! 🐈 🧜‍♀️

My husband and I live on five acres in the farmland of Skagit County, about an hour north of Seattle. My studio is in the most charming 100 year old red barn on our property! Travis and I were both born and raised in Washington state and absolutely love the PNW! As much as I love to travel, there’s no where I’d rather live! 🌲🏔🌊

Meet this week’s two best sellers! 🛷🦮💕Our Sledding Dogs and Holly in pink have been flying off the shelves!

It’s always SO much fun to see which designs end up being your favorites. I predicted Sledding Dogs, but Holly has been fun surprise! And if pink isn’t your thing, the Holly design comes in blue too! 💙

All three designs are also available as bow ties and sailor bows. 🎀 They slide onto your dog’s collar with two strips of elastic so that they stay nice and straight!

‘Tis the season to be grateful! 💛 Well actually that’s everyday, but as we head towards Thanksgiving it’s a great time to remember all we are thankful for, especially the people in our lives!

We have four adorable thank you cards in the shop for dog sitters, cat sitters and any occasion you want to say thanks for. Our “thankful for you” card would be especially sweet paired with a hostess gift on Thanksgiving! 🥧🍂🦃

Surprise! Two new bandanas have hit the shop in a brand new fabric - flannel!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I had hoped to design and print my own designs on flannel but it turns out it’s a complicated process! To make flannel, the design is first printed on a smooth fabric, and after printing it’s brushed to give it that soft flannel feel. From my research so far, to create my own flannels would likely mean printing in large quantities overseas... So, I decided that I’m just going to have to scour the internet for existing fabrics that work with my collections! 💫

I have two holiday flannels coming, but I wanted to get these on the site right away because I think they are so cute for fall and Thanksgiving! 🍂🦃🍃

Pumpkin patches get all the attention, but how many of you visit apple orchards in the fall? 🍎🍏 We are known for our apples here in Washington state which is what inspired this fabric! And doesn’t look adorable in it??❤️

Once upon a time a human girl travelled to a land of enchanted islands where she met the most magical creature ever.... a beautiful purr-maid named Ariel! 🐱🧜‍♀️🏝️

Yes, that’s right! We have a new kitty named Ariel who flew home with me from Maui a couples weeks ago! (The photo above is me with ocean hair meeting our baby for the first time!)

I had this trip planned with a dear friend for a while and when we lost Belle my husband and I decided that we’d wait until after I got back to adopt a new kitty. But then I started checking the Maui Humane Society to see if maybe our girl was there!

After I spotted Ariel I couldn’t stop thinking about her and started messaging with the owner of where she was staying. As I learned more about her, I just knew she was our cat and made the decision to bring her home before I even met her!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Ariel was born as a community cat in Lahaina. This is why her ear is tipped - she was a TNR or “trap-neuter-release” cat who lived outdoors and was cared for by volunteers. She survived the Lahaina fires and was brought into the Humane Society to recover. She was then adopted by a fire survivor who lost their home, but when that person found permanent housing cats were not allowed.

So she returned to the Maui Humane Society three months ago and they placed her at the Cat Cafe Maui to wait for her forever family. She was officially the very last of the Lahaina fire cats to find a forever home, and I just feel SO honored that she’s ours! Oh, and she came with the name Ariel and we just feel like it’s the perfect name for her so we kept it! 🐱🧜‍♀️💕

Thanks so much for supporting us through our loss of Belle and for helping us welcome sweet Ariel into The Cheery Pet family. We can’t for you to get to know her better alongside us!

🌲 Our shop is based in the Evergreen State so I love including trees in my designs! I think this fabric is such a fun nod to the Pacific Northwest, and perfect for outdoor adventures in any state!🌲

Also, do you spy the same trees in this sticker and card? I love using my illustrations across various products. That way one drawing can pull double duty (or triple duty) and I think it’s also a fun way to put a gift together that coordinates!
