Ryan Floyd – Director of Purchasing, TRM NRE
Ryan Floyd has a comprehensive background in the rail industry, with expertise in mechanical procurement, inventory logistics, continuous improvement, and governance. His career began at Wabtec Global Services, where he developed a strong foundation in the field. He then spent 11 years at Kansas City Southern (KCS), gaining extensive experience across the entire procure-to-pay process, including warehouse management, procurement, sourcing, logistics, and leading special projects.
Following the merger of CP and KCS into Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC), Ryan has spent the past two years focusing on system integration, locomotive procurement, and advancing procurement and inventory governance practices.
Outside of work, Ryan is dedicated to his family. He and his wife, Samantha, are proud parents of two daughters, aged 9 and 13, as well as a Labrador Retriever mix. Together, they enjoy outdoor activities such as kayaking, fishing, hunting, distance running, geocaching, and playing or watching sports. Much of their time is devoted to supporting their daughters' activities, including competitive soccer, volleyball, piano, Girl Scouts, and golf.

Jami Melvin – Account Executive Assistant, TRM NRE
Jami Melvin has been a valued member of our organization since March 2013. She began her journey in the Shipping and Receiving Department, where she quickly advanced to the role of Lead. Her abilities and attention to detail earned her a move to our International Division as Export Coordinator, where she managed complex logistics and further developed her understanding of the critical parts our customers depend on. This role also deepened her expertise in our system and database, equipping her with a solid foundation in operations.

In October 2024, Jami took on the position of Account Executive Assistant in the Sales Department. With over a decade of experience in customer-oriented roles, Jami brings a strong knowledge of our products and a dedication to supporting our clients' needs. Her extensive background across multiple departments enables her to provide informed, effective support to the sales team and foster seamless customer interactions.

In our Houma Office hangs the poster shown in the image below. We are honored to have those who served our country amongst our ranks.

We do not take for granted those that sacrificed to preserve our freedoms, and as an expression of gratitude, all NRE facilities will be closed Monday November 11th.

🎓 Had a great experience attending the job fair at Fletcher Technical Community College in Houma, LA on November 6th! We met some promising candidates excited about starting their careers, and we had the chance to connect with instructors who are shaping the next generation of talent.

Michael Kaufman - General Manager, Performance Solutions TRM NRE
With 34 years of experience in manufacturing and machining – including 5 years as a mechanical engineer – Michael Kaufman brings a wealth of expertise to his role. He joined Performance Solutions in 2020, initially working maintenance, before advancing to Production Supervisor, and ultimately becoming the General Manager.
Michael offers over 15 years of leadership experience and has played a pivotal role in driving operational excellence at Performance Solutions. Under his guidance, the company has implemented new machine processes to maximize runtime efficiency, resulting in measurable improvements in productivity, quality, and employee morale.
He is passionate about workforce development and launched a specialized training program to help employees connect their daily tasks with the broader production goals. This program focuses on training around specific components, giving employees insight into how their work contributes to the bigger picture. Additionally, Michael introduced regular roundtable meetings to foster open dialogue on continuous improvement and empower employees with a sense of ownership in their work.
Michael’s tenure has also seen the design and development of new tools and machinery to enhance operational efficiency while making processes more ergonomically friendly, demonstrating his commitment to both innovation and employee well being.

Bryan Chaisson, Sr.
Vice President, Engine/Power Systems, TRM NRE

Bryan Chaisson has been a prominent figure in the diesel engine industry since 1972. Leveraging decades of leadership and expertise, he transformed a small business into a significant player within the Gulf Coast region. Bryan founded Chaisson’s Engine in 1972 and, in 1992, merged with NRE, where he established the Marine Division. His extensive technical knowledge spans a wide range of diesel engines, including CAT®, Alco®, EMD®, Cummins®, and Detroit®.
A proud United States Marine veteran, Bryan served two tours in Vietnam, earning distinguished honors such as two Purple Hearts, the Bronze Star, the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, and several service medals.
Outside of work, Bryan enjoys time with his family. He and his wife Sarah have four children—Bryan Jr, Sabrina, Shawn, and Kirby—and love spending time with their eight grandchildren, especially when they go duck hunting and fishing.

Charity Franklin - Director of Human Resources, TRM NRE
Charity Franklin is the Director of Human Resources at TRM NRE, a role she has held since May 2024. With a strong educational background, she earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of the Cumberlands and a Master of Science in Human Resources with a focus on Leadership from Northeastern University.
Charity brings deep expertise to her position, holding a Senior Certified Professional Certification through the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM). She also demonstrates her leadership beyond the workplace by serving as President of the Midwest Kentucky SHRM chapter and as a volunteer leader for KY SHRM.
Outside of her professional responsibilities, Charity enjoys spending time with her family and friends, embracing a balance between her career and personal life.

Seth Cullers - Director of Sales, TRM NRE

With nearly two decades of experience in sales and team management, Seth brings a wealth of expertise to TRM NRE as the Director of Sales. His career began at Bohr Electronics, where he honed his skills and most recently led the Inside Sales team. During his 19-year tenure at Bohr, Seth worked closely with his team to overcome challenges and ensure customer satisfaction remained a top priority.
Seth spent his formative years in Taiwan as the child of missionary parents, an experience that instilled in him a deep respect for cultural diversity. He is fluent in Chinese, which has broadened his ability to connect with diverse customers and colleagues.
At TRM NRE, Seth is committed to leveraging his sales expertise to drive strong customer service and build lasting relationships within the industry. His passion for delivering value and support to customers is at the forefront of his approach.
Outside of his professional life, Seth is a devoted family man with six children, aged 4 to 15. He shares a strong passion for soccer with several of his children, and though his days as a weekend warrior on the soccer field have given way to family responsibilities, his love for the sport remains.
Seth is guided by the belief that teamwork is essential for long-term success, as reflected in his favorite African proverb: "If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together."

Kraig Roberts, Chief Commercial Officer (CCO)

Kraig Roberts serves as TRM NRE’s Chief Commercial Officer, where he is dedicated to ensuring that our customers receive unparalleled value and support to help grow their businesses. Leveraging the vast resources and talent at TRM NRE, Kraig is committed to expanding our reach with both new and existing customers. As a fourth-generation member of his family serving the railroad industry, Kraig brings a deep-rooted passion for building lifelong relationships with our clients.
Before joining TRM NRE, Kraig was the Director of Sales – Locomotives for Wells Fargo Rail, where he managed all locomotive leasing and sales activities across the southern United States and Mexico for over six years. He previously held roles at NRE from 2011 to 2017, including positions in North American Sales and Strategic Sourcing. Kraig began his career in locomotive sales with Relco Locomotives in 2010.
Kraig holds both an undergraduate and a master’s degree from St. Mary’s University in Winona, MN.
