These are the days I question having livestock. 🥶

Please make sure your animals have lots of fresh, unfrozen water; plenty of hay/feed, and a place to stay out of the wind.

Thinking of adding rabbits to your home? Remember that they are a 10 year commitment, and need more than a hutch outside. They do great with litter boxes inside, and should be spayed/neutered as well.

For 190 days José and Maria have been waiting patiently for their forever home. After coming to us as part of a humane case, these resilient rabbits have continued to thrive.
Let's make this the year Jose and Maria find their forever family!

This is not meant to be an alarmist post, but a reminder of one reason why raw pet food is not recommended. There have also been documented cases of cats dying after ingesting raw (unpasteurized) milk from cows infected with this type of influenza.
So far these cases are confined to the west coast of the US, but it will likely move east with bird migration, live animal transportation, and product distribution.

An Oregon house cat died after eating pet food that tested positive for bird flu, Oregon authorities said, prompting a recall of raw frozen pet food that was sold nationwide. https://nbc4i.co/4gRneTE

Dr. Rogers and the CCAH team had a great time hosting Will Small, a veterinary student from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, and a Knox County resident. Will has specific interests in large animal medicine and general surgery. During his two day visit, Will had the opportunity to observe Dr. Rogers complete over a dozen surgical procedures from start to finish.
