Good boy looking for a good person.
This big love bug is believed to be a pitbull mix. He is sweet as he can be, very playful with the other dogs, great with people, and has very good manners. He is looking for a home where someone will understand and work him through his fears of being on a leash and/or going inside a building.
He does not understand how to walk on a leash whatsoever, and he refuses to walk through gates/doors. When you put a leash on him, he just drops to the ground and won't move because he's scared. He is happy and playful when he's off leash, but still refuses to go through gates/doors. We speculate he may have been penned up outside, and gotten in trouble for leaving the pen.
All he needs is someone to show him love, and give him time to understand that he isn't going to get in trouble any more.

Yet again the shelter is crowded, and "Amelia" is our longest resident here. We really need to find her a home quickly, and we know our community can spread the word that this goofy girl is in need of her own home.
Here's what we know. She is about 1 year old, mix breed, around 45-50 lbs.
She is good with all dogs, and good with the kitten at the shelter. She loves to get her belly rubbed, roll in the grass, and chase a ball. She loves to jump up on top of things, and she is FULL of personality. She is leery of strangers at first, but warms up quickly, especially if they have treats. She knows her name, and she knows how to sit. She also has pretty good leash manners.
There is no adoption fee for this girl. Adopter will be required to spay/vaccinate, and microchip ($25).

This guy is looking for a home where he can have some room to run and play. He is a mixed breed, approximately 6 months old, and will mature to be a medium size dog. He is VERY smart, and already knows how to sit, come, and walk on a leash. He is very loyal, and loves to be right with people, not straying far away.
He is a higher energy dog, and will do best in an active home, with a big yard, or acreage where he can burn some steam. He loves to play, and is good with other dogs.

This young lady is STILL looking for a home. She is believed to be a terrier mix, approximately 8-12 months old, and medium size.
She is a very happy girl that craves human companionship. She is a very kind and gentle dog.
She walks fairly well on a leash, is good with cats, and other dogs. Possibly potty trained. She is sometimes scared of fast movements, therefore will do best in a home with older kids or adults.

This big guy is intake #24-031. He is believed to be 10 months -1 year old, and is a large size dog. He is very friendly with adults and kids, very and playful. He was adopted, but returned because he is not a fan of being an inside dog. So, he is looking for a home where he can be an outside dog and have a nice big fenced yard or lots of acreage.
He does great with the other dogs and (as you can see) LOVES to play with the puppies!

The puppies are making the best out of an unfortunate situation, and enjoying some brand new toys that were donated!
These mix breed pups have all been seen by the vet, who estimated them at 11 weeks old. They are gaining weight and feeling great in just a few days! I have been working to train them how to use newspaper to go potty on, and they are doing a wonderful job! All of them are very cuddly and sweet.
Each puppy will go to their new home:

Did you know black dogs are the hardest dogs to get adopted? That is proving to be true for this good boy, since he has not even had a single inquiry about adopting.
This goober is a really good dog. He is believed to be a Staffordshire Terrier mix, less than a year old. He does phenomenal with other dogs, LOVES kids and makes friends with everyone he meets. He is leash trained, I believe he's potty trained, and knows how to sit (even though it's really hard to sit when your tail is wagging at mach speed).
He loves food more than anything in the whole world, and is easily motivated to learn with treats.
If you are looking for a sweet family dog, come and meet him. You will not be disappointed in the amount of affection this dog has to offer. His fur may be black, but he truly has a heart of gold.

Mercede is a German Shepherd mix, approximately 3 years old. She is VERY well potty trained, loves to go on walks, and makes friends with all of the dogs/cats and volunteers at the shelter. She can sit, and shake, and comes to her name. She really loves kids and puppies. She is so very smart, really the sweetest girl when you get to know her, and she aims to please.
Mercede is a very property protective dog, and will need a secure yard. Due to this she needs an approved home with an experienced owner, or a rescue to take her in. She has passed all of the behavioral tests, but she will guard her home from people she doesnt know. Once she has been introduced, she is fantastic.
Mercede has current vaccinations. Adopter/rescue will be required to spay.
There is no fee to adopt. She needs placement by December 19th.

This loveable guy is the only kitty in a shelter full of dogs, and he's ready to bust out of here.
He is a domestic short hair, approximately 1 year old. He uses a litterbox, and will come when you call him. He is very personable, and has quite a funny personality. He is leery of dogs, but does well with other cats, kids, and people. He is not shy AT ALL. I believe he has been an indoor/outdoor kitty.

He is learning how to sit, and gives lots of kisses. He is very friendly with people and kids, and will make an active person or family a wonderful pet.

Surely someone out there has room in their life for a sweet old pitbull?
Big Mama is still looking for a home as an only dog, or a rescue to take her in. She is almost perfect! She's potty trained, knows commands, walks on a leash, LOVES kids, loves everybody. She is happy to go on short walks, or just lay around and take naps all day. She is easy going, and just goes with the flow. She does not bark excessively, she doesnt chew things up. She will easily fit into just about any home type.
Unfortunately this big girl has one bad habit. Before coming to the shelter, she went through a time in her life when she wasn't sure when her next meal would come. She was very underweight when she first arrived, and it was obvious she hadn't been fed regularly for quite some time. Because of this, she resource guards her food from other animals (I have personally put my hand in her bowl while she's eating and she does nothing. The guarding is only towards other animals.) She is friendly with other dogs and cats when no food is involved, and she can frequently be seen playing with the dogs next to her in the shelter, letting the cats walk around her and rub on her, and she even let the cat sun bathe in her kennel.
Big Mama is a phenomenal dog, she just needs a chance to show someone how amazing she truly is.
There is no fee to adopt this girl. She will go to her new home/rescue with current rabies and 9 way. Her adopter will be required to have her spayed within 30 days.
