Yesterday was a tough one for a young lady who saved an abandoned scruffy dog we named Milo. He was discovered at least a week after his loser owner left him behind when evicted from a house outside of Flippin.
When the landlord reached out to him about the dog his response was "Just shoot him!" Thank goodness this landlord let Abbey step in to help. She called me to see what Lucky Dawg could do. He was severely malnourished, and unable to move his back end. Dr Hilvert saw him and treated him with hopes he would recover. All Creatures Dr. Cliburn took additional X-rays and we discovered he also had multiple lung tumors and was not going to be able to recover. So we did the hardest thing but the right thing. We euthanized this sweet innocent dog surrounded by Abbey, Dr Cliburn, and me. We named him Milo and told him how sorry we were that he was treated so badly. I'm grateful that Abbey and her mom were able to love and care for him with the hope for a better outcome. Today I buried him in my flowerbed and planted daffodils with him. Each morning I will remember how much he touched the hearts of all of us in the short time we were blessed to love him. As far as his horrible human, may you rot in hell. Karma is waiting for you. We all dream of different kinds of wealth.

For some, it’s shiny cars, designer bags, and perfect photos by the pool. For others, it’s muddy paws, wagging tails, and the sound of animals finally feeling safe.

The truth is, happiness looks different to everyone. But there’s a kind of peace that comes from giving a second chance to a creature who once thought the world had given up on them. No brand or mansion can match the warmth of a rescue animal curling up beside you, finally at rest.

If you’ve ever looked into the eyes of a rescued dog, you know what real gratitude looks like. It’s quiet, humble, and endlessly loyal. That’s the kind of life that doesn’t need diamonds to shine. This is the face of gratitude! Bobo is on his way from Blytheville Pound to a new life in Colorado thanks to Paula Cooper (TAPS Rescue) Debby Hamel (Pilots N Paws) Pilots Kyle and Torieka. Saturday, Dec. 13th House of Realty and Cove Coffee are teaming up with Lucky Dawg Rescue for a fur-tastic day of Pet and Family Pics, plus hot drinks with the big man and his better half, Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus! Please consider this precious girl!

Delta, a darn good dog, has received exactly zero applications. So, we’re going to change lanes, shift gears and try a new road to adoption. Instead of outlining all her good qualities, and there are a bunch, we’re going to outline 5 things you WON’T get with Delta.
You will not get:
1. A running idiot. She’s well-behaved, slightly shy, 55-pound lab mix whose biggest fear is that you’ll stop loving her.
2. A puppy with puppy teeth that can chew through steel. She’s more than one year old and is not practicing to be a beaver.
3. A fickle companion who’ll take off with the first traveling salesman that comes to the door, leaving you behind. Not a chance. Make her feel loved, and Delta is not going anywhere.
4. A little black bull in a china closet. She’s done well in training and knows her stuff. She will not crash into everything in the house. She will, however, crash on your couch. But invite me over, and I probably would, too.
5. A jerk. Delta is sweet, nice, and friendly. She doesn’t know the first thing about being a jerk. It’s not in her nature.
So, there you have it….everything you won’t get by adopting this pretty girl. The choice is yours, and Delta is hoping one of you will say yes.
