Is anyone available on Sunday to drive a puppy from the shelter in Mukwonago to North Lake Wi to give to New Beginnings Shih Tzu rescue and bring back an adult dog? Two dogs got mislabeled during transport so we are trying to get the dogs where they belong.

Here are some pictures of Aanya going through the intake process❤️🐾

1. We took her weight and checked for any immediate signs of disease or injuries 🩺

2. Next we check for a microchip and get her up to date on shots and deworming 💉

3. Then it’s time for a bath and brush🛁. During this we continue to check for any ticks, fleas, or sign of skin disease.

4. After this we clip out all the burrs, woodchips, and anything else tangled in her hair that didn’t come out during the bath ✂️

5. Next step is to add her to our records and schedule any necessary vet care. 📋

We have received so many wonderful donations online and by mail that we acknowledge in private along with the tax receipt we wanted to do a big public thank you to all that support our mission during the holidays and throughout the year! Ya-Ya is back at rescue after spending Christmas in a foster home!

Her foster family describes her quiet and layed back. During her time in a home she learned how to use potty pads and met many different animals that she loved.

She’s ready to start the new year in a fur-ever home or another foster home until a family finds her❤️🐾

Today we welcomed Aanya and 10 other puppy mill survivors into our little buddies pack! It will be a few weeks before this group is ready for adoption and listed on the website.

These 3 Aussie Poodle pups didn't find a home during the open house so will be listed on our adoptables sites and looking for homes next week after they are spayed/neutered. They are about 3 months old and 12 lb each.

Thank you so much, we met our goal for Shakira! Any additional funds raised will go for the general care of the dogs in our care including a few new dogs that we will post soon! Shakira Ramona is a happy active girl but we can tell her old broken elbow causes her pain. We have the opportunity to have her leg amputated on Wed but we don't have the money to pay for it. Can we raise $400 before Wed afternoon to cover the cost at the HAWS Snip Clinic? Otherwise she will have to wait until mid January for another opening at the clinic. Donation options can be found at www.bichonrescues.com/how-can-I-help Because of the nature and age of the injury, amputation is the best option for Shakira to have an active and pain free life going forward.

These pups are loving the winter weather! ❄️🐾 Some people are scared to adopt during winter in fear that it will be harder to potty train. While this is the case for some snow-adverse dogs, others love jumping around and exploring in it!
