Hi everyone, long time no talk, so much has been going on, one of the main things is that we are now located about 25 miles from that iconic tourist trap "South of the border".
Anyway, I am loving my huge fenced backyard with a beautiful pecan tree that gave us 10 ziplock gallon bags of nuts. I am in a constant battle to harvest them before the dogs can crack them open and eat them. I also have chickens now, they hopefully will start laying eggs in the spring.
I wanted let you know that I will be placing some dogs/teenage dogs to worthy homes, due to my ongoing health issues. Feel free to message me and I can let you know more about who is available.

I have had a few people asking about how much their dogs should weigh, or how to gauge if their are overweight. Once every few days I feel my dogs sides, not pressing in, and at the mid point between elbow and back, you should feel ribs. If you can't feel rib, to learn what it should feel like, hold your hand out, palm down and stretch your fingers out. Now take your other hand and feel the covering over the back of your hand, this is the sort of covering that is appropriate for all dogs.
2020 is the start of a new decade and I want to make fitness and weight loss a priority for all dogs, but especially the ones I have bred. It really stresses me and hurts my heart to see dogs that are being loved to health issues, joint issues and potentially shortened lifespans. Do not rely on your Veterinarian to know what weight your dog should be. Since 57% of all dogs are not just overweight but clinically obese, they will have a hard time seeing the forest for the trees.
Some may argue that their is a difference between my "show" dogs and your pet dog, but their is no difference in optimal weight for health living.

A reminder that even the most calm dog can react negatively to fireworks. Plan ahead and try to have them pottied well before dark. I also have recommended CBD oil treats, and you can start these a few days prior to the 4th. Please feel to share!
