Update on the baby who had seizures due to water toxicity! She has made a full recovery and doing amazing!! Her parents are so happy and put so much work into her recovery! I love seeing this girl back to her normal self!

Sad education post for new puppy parents!

I never thought that this would have to be an education point to my new puppy parents as I’ve never foreseen something like this happening but I want to make a big post for everyone purchasing a puppy from anyone! I sent home my spunky little black and tan female from Lucy x Nixons litter yesterday evening. Three hours later I received a text that she was being allowed to drink fluids nonstop to the point of bloating and vomiting. I informed the parents that puppies are similar to babies and may not understand when to stop eating or drinking so she should be closely monitored and not given anymore fluids. An hour later I received a phone call that she was seizing and they were taking her to the emergency vet. My first thought was depleted Sodium and Potassium due to excessive intake of water. At the vet, electrolyte imbalance was confirmed and my parents were given the quote of $5k to keep their puppy overnight for monitoring. Unfortunately, as most people, my puppy parents could not do this and went home with just a potassium pill to increase those levels and told to watch closely. She is getting better but definitely not out of the woods yet.

My piece of education, puppies do not understand what is best for them!! They will fall/jump off furniture too high, they will touch things or chew things they shouldn’t, they may also drink/eat to the point of causing harm. Please watch your puppies closely, even if you think they may still be hungry/thirsty, give them a break between large amounts of water as dachshunds are small puppies (1-3 pounds usually) and should not consume large amounts of water to the point of bloating!

Everyone please keep this little girl and her parents in your thoughts! Fingers crossed she makes a full recovery with no neurological damage.

All puppies have been sold! With that said, we have two litters due next month!! Pepper (LH black and tan) x Nixon (SH silver dapple) and River (SH Chocolate) x Ace (LH red cream)! As of right now it is not looking like Echo is pregnant but will continue to monitor on that! Both Pepper and Rivers litter will be CKC registered and come with first shots, deworming, health check, vet records, registration papers, 6 month congenital health guarantee, and puppy pack!! Deposit and visitations will be accepted when they’re two weeks old! For more information please PM me!

Thought I’d give a little update since I had so many people reach out on our little “iris coloboma” guy! He found his forever home with a previous puppy parent (Benny is from Ace x Lennon) and he is already thriving!! Thank you again to Lindsey for stepping up and taking in this sweet boy and giving him the BEST brother!! Also thank you to everyone that reached out and offered to love this little boy despite his imperfection!

All puppies had their vet visit and did great! We were informed that Shylah x Nixons dapple piebald male has a condition called iris coloboma. This condition causes him to have an irregularly shaped pupil making him very sensitive to light. Upon research, this does not affect his vision unless in certain types of lighting. With that said, he is back up for grabs at an extremely reduced price (we’re only doing a very small rehoming fee to ensure he goes to an adequate home). He will need to go to a pet only home and needs to be neutered! If interested in this sweet boy, please reach out and we can set up a time for you to meet him!!

*this genetic condition does not show up on our embark genetic panels, which we did not realize, we are doing research to figure out which parent may cause this and will have them spay/neutered immediately!*

Look how much these puppies have grown! Lucy x Nixon puppies are 5 weeks old and Shylah x Nixon puppies are 4 weeks old! These puppies are so active and playful already! Both litters are completely weaned and doing fabulous on solids! Price has been reduced so snag one of these beautiful babies asap! Available to leave last weekend in July! *Shylahs litter is NOT registered as she’s our female with registration complications. Lucy’s litter is CKC registered! For more info, please PM!

Well we just couldn’t resist another litter. We rehomed and added two females to our breeding program from my grandmother recently. Pepper is a CKC long haired black and tan that we believe is Lucy’s full blooded sister, but waiting on paperwork to confirm this. Tilly is an AKC short haired Isabella! Tilly will not be bred until next year and will likely be bred to Ace due to how tiny she is, but Pepper was bred yesterday! So with that said we will be expecting Pepper x Nixon puppies Labor Day weekend! Now this will be our last litter of the year, we promise 😂 Lennon is also in heat but we are not breeding her at this time so her, Poppy, and Tilly will likely be our first litters next year to start back up!
