MONDAY, JANUARY 20 IS NOW FILLED - WE WILL HAVE ANOTHER DATE VERY SOON.

We have appointments available for vaccines and basic wellness check ups (ear infections, skin/minor wound issues, etc) with our veterinarian on Monday, January 20th.

Prices are as follows: $25 rabies vaccines, $15 per additional vaccine (cats we recommend the feline distemper/upper respiratory vaccine, dogs we recommend the canine distemper parvo vaccine at minimum, bordetella vaccine if you’re dog is around other dogs), $25 for a microchip (cat or dog) or a canine heartworm test, and $35 for a feline leukemia/FIV/heartworm test. Exam only- no vaccines- $25. Time slots can be held for a deposit of $25 which will be deducted from your total bill.

We have topical flea medication available WITHOUT a prescription needed! If you are unable to take your pet in for an exam but need flea medicine, we can help. Currently we only have topical available for cats of all sizes, or dogs 11-20 lbs and 56-95 lbs (we’re waiting on the other sizes to arrive). The cost is $11 a tube, 3 for $30 or 6 for $50 (you can mix and match sized). Stop in to ARF on riggin rd Monday through Friday 10-4pm or Saturdays 12-3pm.

Offering: All vaccines in various price packages – exams for conditions such as ear/eye infection treatment, skin issues, pain management, a**l gland expression and nail trims. We also offer heartworm tests and prevention.

Appointments are required and will be held for a $10 fee. THIS IS NOT A DEPOSIT. The fee will guarantee you an appointment time and a free microchip. Please keep in mind that the clinic may be busy and you may still have a wait even if you have an appointment time.

Yesterday, we spayed and neutered 42 animals (mostly cats and kittens, but also 3 dogs). Every Monday this year we have had days like this although yesterday was our busiest day. And, it doesn’t look like it’s letting up anytime soon. Every day we get her pleas from the public to take in kittens, and every Monday we help not only by taking in the kittens from people, but by providing free or drastically reduced cost spay surgeries for the mother cats. We also provide low cost surgeries for most of the local rescue groups around Muncie and the surrounding areas so they can continue to take in cats and kittens needing help. You can help by making a donation to help ARF continue our mission of reducing the cat overpopulation problem in Muncie with free and reduced cost surgeries for community cats. We received a large amount of short dated dog and cat food and have some excess food and would like to help those in need. Today only, we have 5 lb of dog food and 2.5 lb of cat food per person available free from 11am to 2pm located at ARF at 1209 W Riggin Rd Muncie IN 47303. *while supplies last* if we happen to run out, we will start a waiting list and call you when we have more available.

We received an update on a feral cat that was recently spayed at the ARF Paw clinic. Her caretaker has been trying to catch her for a while, and in that time she’s had 3 litters of kittens at least. Shelby, her kind caretaker has found homes for each litter, and was even able to catch the presumed dad of some of the kittens to have him neutered a while ago, but mom always alluded her. Recently though, she was able to catch mom and bring her in to be spayed. They were seperated for a short time, but now that mama cat has healed and been released, she and her partner have reunited and they can live happily ever after, without adding to the cat overpopulation again!!! These kitties may not enjoy human contact, however we are sure if they could send their appreciation to everyone who donates to ARF they would! We are so grateful to all of those who support ARF, and help make it possible to reduce the feral cat population one spay or neuter surgery at a time!

We are excited to share that in 2021, the ARF Paw Clinic vaccinated 2,761 dogs and cats for rabies, and spayed/neutered a total of 3,058 dogs and cats! We are so truly thankful to our supporters who have made this possible. If you would like to donate specifically for the ARF Paw clinic, there are several ways to do so. You can donate our most needed supplies for the vet clinic (paper towels; laundry detergent; bleach that kills 99.9% of germs; trash bags-13 or 30 gallon) or you can donate to our Spay It Forward campaign which provides even more affordable pricing for low income pet owners or community cat caretakers than our already reduced fees. By donating any $40 (or more!) you will provide one spay or neuter surgery to a pet owner having trouble having their pet fixed. We have some extra dry dog food currently, the bags are broken so we can’t store them long term so we would rather share with those in desperate need. If you are in need of dog food stop out to ARF on Riggin rd this week Today (Wednesday ) 1-4pm or tomorrow (Thursday) 1-4pm.

Thank you to Jess smith and her daughter Ali smith for picking these three pups from ARF today and getting them to a rescue in Indianapolis with open foster homes!!! Even when we are full, we try to help by finding rescues with open foster homes and coordinate the transport. The owner of these pups is having mama dog spayed, but needed help finding the last three puppies homes. They say it takes a village- and we are so grateful for everyone who helps in every way. Transporting, sharing our posts when we ask for help, fostering, adopting, donating, volunteering, dropping off aluminum-whatever you do- we appreciate it! Thanks again Jess and Ali for making a difference in the lives of these puppies.

Dutton, an English bulldog/red heeler mix, made quite the handsome model for our photo shoot with Kishel photography for the upcoming Runway for Rescues fundraiser- and now, he’s all ready to find his forever home! Dutton loves people, treats, other dogs, and toys! Dutton is so good with other dogs, he is out “go to” dog when it comes to letting the dogs go out and play. All the dogs like Dutton, and Dutton likes all the dogs! He is fairly submissive so he gets along with nearly dog, hes not possessive of his toys, he’s about 30 pounds so he’s not to small but he’s not too big; and he’s got a great personality apply online at munciearf.com to adopt Dutton !
