Established in 2016, Muncie Animal Care and Services (MACS) is a proud No-Kill animal shelter and animal control department of the City of Muncie, Indiana. MACS provides animal control services to the City of Muncie and Unincorporated Delaware County, and

an adoption program for all. Our mission is to provide proper care and find happy homes for stray, abandoned and abused animals in our community. We seek to provide awareness and education of local laws concerning animals and animal welfare, and to reduce the number of stray and abused animals. MACS Kennel Policy
Must be 18 or older to enter the kennels. Walk-ins are welcome to view our adoptable dogs Mon-Fri from 1-4:30 (or by appt. Staff feed and medicate between 4:30-5, and we do staff based on our meet and greet appts. We do require a staff member to be present during all meet and greets for safety purposes. We are also open for walk-ins to view our adoptable dogs on Sat. from 12-4. If there is a dog you would like to meet, please let a staff member know, and we will do our best to facilitate you and your family. We do our very best to make sure our meet and greets are done safely for our dogs, and for the families meeting them. Please call us at 765-747-4851 or message us on messenger if you have any questions, would like to inquire about any of our animals, or to schedule an appt. Thank you!! MACS has a VERY DOG FRIENDLY, spayed, current on vaccines, heartworm negative, 2 yr old, 22 lbs dog looking for her forever home. Louise came in as a stray and went on a trial adoption and came back because she was too playful and had too much energy for their other dog. Louise is an absolutely lovely, SMALL dog that would make a great addition to an active home. She is working on housetraining. There is not enough room on the adoption floor for all the animals so PLEASE tell the front desk who you are interested in. We are desperately trying to find our sweet girl Stormie . We believe she was taken on Feb 9th She has separation anxiety and would not run off .

Little Debbie is a precious gal that would love a home of her own. She is DOG FRIENDLY, HOUSEBROKEN, 1 yr old, and 46 lbs. Little Debbie was found tied up on the Greenway in September. She loves to play ball, chase tennis balls and be with people. Little Debbie will sit for treats. She seems ok with cats. Please come and play with Litlle Debbie and fall in love. Happy Friday from Arizona!! Arizona ia 3 yrs old, 47 lbs and has been housed at the shelter since October. She is an absolutely lovely girl that can entertain herself with squeaky toys and tennis balls. Arizona enjoys attention, belly rubs and being out of her kennel. She is HOUSEBROKEN!! Arizona is stressed in the kennel and would GREATLY benefit from being out of the shelter. PLEASE come meet this sweet girl that desperately wants a home of her own. P.S. I am very treat motivated and get the wiggles when I think I am getting treats! I don't dislike cats but I may be too much for them. Looking for that perfect dog??? It just may be BONES!!! Bones is HOUSEBROKEN AND DOG FRIENDLY! She is 3 yrs old, 53 lbs and arrived at the shelter in July. Bone's has been in a foster home for months learning doggie manners and enjoying a home like atmosphere. She came back to the shelter this week when the foster could no longer care for her. Bones loves to snuggle on a couch with people and chewy stuffed toys. Someone PLEASE come meet Bone's - the longer she is in the shelter the quicker she will become depressed. Who has the best smile?? It's Rudy! Rudy is 1 yr old, 52 lbs and has been at the shelter since September. He is very playful and loves plush toys. Rudy knows sit and is working on housetraining. Mr. Social butterfly Gizmo would love to have a home and people of his own. Gizmo is EXTREMELY dog friendly and people friendly. He is 1 yr old, 50 lbs, HOUSEBROKEN, and been at the shelter since October. Gizmo loves all toys and loves to share/play with other dogs and people. He is energetic and likes making all kinds of new friends. Gizmo is enegetic and well behaved in a kennel. He appears ok with cats. PLEASE come meet this perfect boy!! Meet this sweet girl, Athena:
She was brought to us extremely emaciated and unwell after being on the run for the last 2 weeks. We sent her straight to Care Animal Hospital for an exam, bloodwork, and x-rays. She was extremely dehydrated, had a high fever, and a foreign body was seen in her stomach on the x-rays. She spent 4 hours today in the OR, where she underwent exploratory surgery to remove the foreign body. Lots of elastic material was blocking her intestines. They did successfully remove all of it and spayed her while she was under. She is doing much better now and will be recovering at the clinic for the next couple of days. Her medical bills are expensive, and we could really use some help. Thank you to the wonderful staff at Care Animal Hospital for taking such great care of Athena!!
