Established in 2016, Muncie Animal Care and Services (MACS) is a proud No-Kill animal shelter and animal control department of the City of Muncie, Indiana. MACS provides animal control services to the City of Muncie and Unincorporated Delaware County, and

an adoption program for all. Our mission is to provide proper care and find happy homes for stray, abandoned and abused animals in our community. We seek to provide awareness and education of local laws concerning animals and animal welfare, and to reduce the number of stray and abused animals. MACS Kennel Policy
Must be 18 or older to enter the kennels. Walk-ins are welcome to view our adoptable dogs Mon-Fri from 1-4:30 (or by appt. Staff feed and medicate between 4:30-5, and we do staff based on our meet and greet appts. We do require a staff member to be present during all meet and greets for safety purposes. We are also open for walk-ins to view our adoptable dogs on Sat. from 12-4. If there is a dog you would like to meet, please let a staff member know, and we will do our best to facilitate you and your family. We do our very best to make sure our meet and greets are done safely for our dogs, and for the families meeting them. Please call us at 765-747-4851 or message us on messenger if you have any questions, would like to inquire about any of our animals, or to schedule an appt. Thank you!! This is Benny!! Benny was picked up by MACS after reportedly being hit by a car and taken to Care Animal Hospital for treatment. Benny has some gnarly wounds to his legs (some necrotic), and his left rear leg has a fractured femur that will need surgery to repair once his wounds heal. Shy Ajax would love to be adopted in to a calm, patient and loving home. Ajax is HOUSEBROKEN, crate trained and very loving once he feels secure (we don't think someone has been very nice to this precious boy). Ajax is a 1 yr old, 47 lbs, husky/shepherd mix. He is a bit timid but warms up quickly. We recommend older kids and no cats. Please meet Ajax and prove to him there are still kind and caring people in the world. This precious dog is still at the shelter!!! ~~~~~ Hi! My name is Kilo! I am always happy! I am dog friendly, 3 yrs old, 47 lbs and have been at the shelter since October. I love couches and will sit for treats. I am a very curious dog, you might even say a bit nosey. Come meet me and let's go on an adventure together! Bones is STILL here! The meet and greet did not go well - Bones did not really connect with the other dog (not all people like all other people - why should every dog like every other dog?) Bones is becoming very depressed and her mental and emotional state is deteriorating. She does not understand how she was in a warm, cozy home one day and then back at the shelter the next! Bones is HOUSEBROKEN and pretty dog friendly! She is 3 yrs old, 53 lbs and arrived at the shelter in July. Bones has been in a foster home for months learning doggie manners and enjoying a home like atmosphere. She came back to the shelter this week when the foster could no longer care for her. Bones loves to snuggle on a couch with people and chewy stuffed toys. Someone PLEASE come meet Bones - the longer she is in the shelter the quicker she will become depressed. Bones' adoption fee is WAIVED!! Please come meet this gorgeous gal! As always, if there is another dog in the home a meet and greet is required.

Winslow and Gizmo have some all important doggie play time. Lucky Gizmo is leaving on a doggie date today but longest resident Winslow is still waiting for his chance for a home and opportunity out of the shelter. Winslow is affectionate, like hugs and kisses, and snuggling in laps. He also has an energetic side that enjoys playing outside. Winslow has been at the shelter since APRIL 2024!!!! He is 2 yrs old, 60 lbs and working on housetraining. Someone please give him a chance.

Poor Tato has had no interest from any adopters:( He is currently in a foster home, but is ready for a forever home !! His foster Mom says he is the sweetest snuggle boy, loves to watch cartoons in his crate, has done well meeting dogs of all sizes, and has seen cats from a distance and ignored them. Tato came to us emaciated with a badly injured leg that required amputation. He gets around great on three legs!! Please come meet Tato! You will need to schedule an appt. for a meet and greet since Tato is in a foster home. Please share and help Tato find his new forever home!!

I am housebroken and dog friendly but I think cats are icky. I am 3 yrs old, 55 lbs, neutered, current on vaccines and heartworm negative. I would also like a yard to play and sniff around in. My adoption fee is waived to an approved home. There is not enough room on the adoption floor for all of our available pets. Please tell the front desk if you are interested in a specific dog or cat.
