Established in 2016, Muncie Animal Care and Services (MACS) is a proud No-Kill animal shelter and animal control department of the City of Muncie, Indiana. MACS provides animal control services to the City of Muncie and Unincorporated Delaware County, and

an adoption program for all. Our mission is to provide proper care and find happy homes for stray, abandoned and abused animals in our community. We seek to provide awareness and education of local laws concerning animals and animal welfare, and to reduce the number of stray and abused animals. MACS Kennel Policy
Must be 18 or older to enter the kennels. Walk-ins are welcome to view our adoptable dogs Mon-Fri from 1-4:30 (or by appt. Staff feed and medicate between 4:30-5, and we do staff based on our meet and greet appts. We do require a staff member to be present during all meet and greets for safety purposes. We are also open for walk-ins to view our adoptable dogs on Sat. from 12-4. If there is a dog you would like to meet, please let a staff member know, and we will do our best to facilitate you and your family. We do our very best to make sure our meet and greets are done safely for our dogs, and for the families meeting them. Please call us at 765-747-4851 or message us on messenger if you have any questions, would like to inquire about any of our animals, or to schedule an appt. Thank you!! Labor Day: Saturday 9/2 - Monday 9/4. General Election: Tuesday 11/7. Veteran's Day: Friday 11/10 - Saturday 11/11. Thanksgiving: Thursday 11/23 - Saturday 11/25. Christmas: Friday 12/22 - Monday 12/25. New Year: Friday 12/29 - Monday 1/1/2024.

URGENT!!
We are looking for the owner of this poor boy who was found near the Marathon gas station off SR 67 after he was hit by a car and brought to the shelter. He is very lethargic and is currently being hospitalized at Care Animal Hospital with multiple pelvic fractures and a fractured leg. He is young, around 9 months old, and not neutered. Professional ball fetcher would love nothing better than to have someone to play with. Sapphire is a teenage 10 month old, 37 lbs, husky mix. She is ok on a leash, housebroken if on a schedule, and super friendly. Sapphire is a ball of energy that is lots of fun and treat motivated. She would be fun to do agility training with. We do not know how Sapphire is with cats or children. As always, if there is another dog in the home a meet and greet is required. There is not enough room on adoption for all the available animals. Please tell the front desk who you are interested in. Adoption fees are waived for veterans, active military, first responders and senior citizens.

Poor little Maylon had had a rough start. He came to MACS at 7 weeks-old with a degloved lip that needed surgically repaired. He also has a gnarly brachial plexus injury to his front right leg that has developed sores on from dragging it around, and unfortunately, it needs amputated. We could really use some help covering the cost of his leg amputation. If anyone would like to donate to Maylon's surgery, you may do so at the shelter or via Venmo:

This sweet face would love to have a home of her own! Riley would also enjoy a doggie date or a pup cup! Riley is kind of a shy girl that is 3 yrs old and 41 lbs. She is ok on a leash, loves car rides and working on house training. We do not know how Riley is with cats or children. As always, if there is another dog in the home a meet and greet is required.
