We did it! We finally made fresh, homemade ginger beer from our own homemade ginger bug! This is so exciting! About eight years ago I (Erin) tried making it and accidentally forgot about it for about a month. Once I found it I tried about one ounce and WHOOPS! Ended up a bit buzzed 🫢 This time, we didn't forget about it, and instead nursed the bug and the beer for a total of 22 days. We have three bottles going now, and will probably make about one bottle a week until we're sick of it 🤣

It's slightly sweet, heavy ginger flavor, and just a little bubbly. I added a touch of super hot pepper powder and dried ginger to my drinking glass for some extra zest!

We'll leave the jar to ferment for another day or two and then into the fridge it goes to slow the fermentation process but keep the bubbles. We could also flavor it, or perform a second ferment, by adding our flavors like fruits and herbs, and letting it ferment for two to four more days. Maybe some root beer or lavender... Yum!

Well Happy Sunday night, everyone! This week is going to be pretty busy. Not only are we making fresh Elderberry Syrup, but we are also baking! Pick ups will be Friday for all baked goods.

Please have baked goods orders in by Tuesday, February 18th. Please indicate your preferred date and time, and pick up in Mundelein, IL or delivery when ordering. Thanks everyone!

-Cranberry Pecan Loaf - $11

Deliveries will be $3 flat per order and per stop, within six miles of our location. Preorders require 50% deposit via Zelle or PayPal which is applied to your order upon receipt. Deposit is lost if orders are not picked up on the date specified. If your order can be sold to someone else, we may apply your deposit to your future order within six months of deposit payment.
