Position Type: Full-Time/Part-Time
Job Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Dog Daycare Specialist to join our small kennel business. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animals and enjoy working in a team-oriented environment. This position involves providing exceptional care for dogs, ensuring a clean and safe environment, and delivering excellent customer service.
As a Dog Daycare Specialist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the well-being of the dogs in our care while interacting with pet parents to provide them with a positive experience.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Dog Care:
o Supervise and engage dogs during playtime, ensuring they are safe, socialized, and well-exercised.
o Feed, water, and administer any required medications to dogs as per instructions from pet owners.
o Assist with grooming tasks such as brushing, bathing, and nail trimming.
o Monitor dogs for any signs of illness or distress and communicate with management if there are any concerns.
o Ensure all dogs are safely returned to their designated areas after play sessions and that they are comfortable.
2. Cleaning & Maintenance:
o Maintain a clean and sanitary environment by regularly cleaning and disinfecting kennels, play areas, and common spaces.
o Ensure all dog bedding, toys, and equipment are clean and in good condition.
o Dispose of waste properly and assist with waste cleanup during outdoor play sessions.
o Follow all safety and hygiene protocols to ensure the well-being of both the dogs and staff.
3. Customer Service:
o Provide a warm and welcoming environment for pet parents during drop-off and pick-up times.
o Maintain clear communication with pet owners, including updates on their dogs' behavior, activities, and well-being.
o Assist with scheduling and managing daycare reservations, including confirming appointments and checking in/out dogs.
o Respond to customer inquiries, address concerns, and offer helpful advice on dog care and services.
o Assist with administrative tasks, including data entry and maintaining accurate records of pet care.
4. Teamwork & Collaboration:
o Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure smooth daily operations and a positive experience for both dogs and clients.
o Participate in ongoing training and development to improve dog care practices and customer service skills.
o Support other team members in tasks as needed, ensuring all kennel operations are efficiently managed.
Qualifications:
• Passion for dogs and animal care.
• Prior experience in a dog daycare, kennel, or veterinary setting is preferred but not required.
• Ability to handle dogs of various sizes, breeds, and temperaments.
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with customers.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physically capable of performing cleaning duties and interacting with dogs in an active environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
Compensation:
Competitive pay based on experience starting at $14/hr.
