👀Check what some of our riders have been doing this summer!

They participated in our 100 day NAH Equestrian Horse Challenge. Each participant worked with 1 horse to further their horsemanship skills, stepping into the role as horse trainer. Throughout this journey they recieved points for specific tasks as well as written and video journals. It was a fun and challenging role for them. At the end of their 100 days they competed in 4 different phases of competition.

*groundwork and in-hand obstacle course
*obstacle course under saddle
*freestyle
*interview with a panel of judges

So impressed with their dedication and passion for learning!

The boys had a great world show and we could not be more excited about their future. Thank you to everyone for your support, well wishes and prayers.

We are so blessed to have so many cheering us on and holding done the fort while we chase gold buckle dreams.

Wow what a morning! Rowdy Mullens and Easter Icecapade went through 3 Rounds in the Working Western Rail today. They made all the way to the Semi finals ending in the top 20 out of 87 horses. Huge improvement from last year!

Next up Reining go 53 followed by Ranch Riding Finals @6!!

Comparison is the theif of gratitude and joy.

I was reminded of this as I sat waiting on Rowdy to head to the arena. I recieved a text message with a Bible study from the man himself, DB. What I found interesting was the precise timing this message was sent/recieved as it is not on a day when I usually get his bible study links.

In that moment I was reflecting on the week's events and well comparing our successes and lack of success. So when I heard that statement playing in the background of my morning musings it was like being slapped in the back of the head.

The joy and gratitude I've experienced this week has been missing from my life. Mainly because I have been comparing myself to what my mind tells me is "the industry's measure of success". There is a lot I have not accomplished. So many goals that I want to reach but may never see but I can never deny how grateful I am to be in this exact moment. Wow how far I have come, how far we have come! How blessed we have been.

So as I remind myself and will remind you my friends. YOU are not a wal-mart version of someone else You are the boujie Gucci version of YOU and that is exactly who God made YOU to be.

Ride on. Teach on. Share on. And most importantly Cheer on because God already made you a Champion just the way you are.

Update on our boys here at the AQHA Youth World Show in OKC.

Today they showed in the Ranch Trail. Great runs but a penalty kept Gunador out of the finals.

Easter Icecapade aka Reed was a finalist in the Level 2 Ranch Trail placing 12th overall out of a stellar pen of 86. They missed the Level 3 finals be 1/2 a point being the first out of the callbacks.

By far the absolute best trail run in their career marking a 79 under 1 judge putting them at the top of his card.

They may not be coming home with a globe in the ranch trail but they are still Champions at NAH!

Tomorrow is a big day with Working Ranch Rail Prelims, Reining Prelims and Ranch Riding finals.

Prayers greatly appreciated for sound horses mentally and physically, focus, mental clarity and all the ducks to get in a row!

This morning as I reflected before the start of our competition day at the youth world show I was not surprised as I opened my bible app to see this verse, James 1:12.

Perseverance is something I like to think I do pretty good. Not because I'm great at seeing the bright shiny light in all situations but more because sometimes I'm too stubborn to just give up.

My circle of friends have seem to all be experiencing some similar stories of "trials" in life. An abundance of burn out along with feeling unsatisfied with where we currently are in our journey seems to be the topic of conversation amongst many I respect and admire. Most of us are in the positions we have because of our passion for the horse and desire to share those opportunities to any one willing to jump on the crazy train with us. We are all hustlers, movers, shakers and tad bit of over doers. No is hard to say and the drive to see others succeed through our help and guidance is really satisfying. I'm not saying these are either good or bad qualities, but they can all pose their own trials.

I was reminded this weekend at a show of how some of these trials we are walking in are self inflicted. How allowing the world's measure of success to define me is really the problem. How easy it can be to forget and put the pressure of "meeting the expectations of man" above God. In these moments I forget whose child I am and my purpose.

Today as I sat in the arena watching and coaching my own child at 2 a.m. I reminded myself what the true reward is. No matter this weeks outcome Im so bleesed to watch my kid ride. Im so fortunate to have the people who poured into me that helped bring me to this day, to this moment in time. Yes, I'm still going to struggle with my own desires. Yes, I'll keep riding to win. It's not in me to do otherwise. God made me that way on purpose. It's why I can persevere. I just needed to be reminded who I was persevering for.🥰
