The Farm Animal Care Coalition of Tennessee (FACCT) is pleased to announce the hiring of Kevin Ferguson as Executive Director. Kevin recently retired after a 38 year career with the University of Tennessee Extension Service where he served as the MANAGE Program coordinator. The program assists families in analyzing their total farming business so they can make informed decisions regarding their future.

โ€œWe are excited to have Kevin on boardโ€ shared Dr. Waren Gill, FACCT President and former Director of the MTSU School of Agribusiness and AgriScience. โ€œHis background and experience make him the perfect fit to continue and expand the mission of FACCT.โ€

FACCT was founded in 2012 and its mission is to serve as a unified voice for humane animal care, well-being issues, and best management practices in Tennessee agriculture โ€” FACCT provides pro-agriculture expertise and experience to effectively communicate with the public, media, lawmakers, and animal agriculture stakeholders.

FACCTโ€™s Livestock 911 Conference will be held October 15 at the MTSU Livestock Center. โ€œThe Livestock 911 Conference provides hands-on training for law enforcement, emergency responders or anyone else involved in animal welfare emergencies.โ€ Ferguson shared. โ€œAnimal agriculture is important to me and I look forward to furthering the mission of FACCT on behalf of farmers and those interested in livestock well-being.โ€

Ferguson operates a cattle farm in Rutherford County along with his wife Phyllis and daughter Haylee. He can be reached at [email protected].
