If I had been sick for a week like this a few years ago I would have cried, gotten depressed, frustrated, felt bad for letting family, friends, coworkers, students down, but as I have been sitting at home every morning feeling like a complete pile of s*** I focused on the blessing I have been able to witness because of that rather than counting the things piling up on my to-do-list. I watched humming birds zoom by, I watched sunrises (not so much sunsets because by then I was a dead lump on the couch or bed), chickens meandering around, bees 🐝 buzzing for food before fall and winter take their season away, spiders create webs and taking them down (or me by walking into them because I am too out of it to notice 😂😩)Did I get anything accomplished this week? My old self would have said F*** No, but the older & wiser me says “Yes and F***ing yes” again.I slowed down and let time pass without regrets. Yes it sucks being sick but sh*t yes I am proud of myself for allowing me the time to rest and recover.
