✔ Exercise your pets that day so they are tired during trick or treat times!
✔Ensure IDs & microchip is updated
✔keep your pet leashed so you can easily grab leash if they get past you or have a baby gate at the door
✔Keep them in a separate room if possible during trick or treat times

🌻😔 365 days in, and our sweet Ringo is still here. ☀️ Ringo is a American Bully/Staffy mix, he’s almost 2 years old now, we got him at 10 months old. This boy has stolen our hearts time and time again, and we truly wish he could find that forever home. 🏡

Ringo is ready for Adoption, Foster to Adopt, and Rescue. Appointment only as he is in Foster. ☀️

Please join us for a fun afternoon of Animal Bingo, a new spin on traditional bingo where instead of numbers, you are marking off the dog and cat breeds that are being called with what is on your card! 🐾🐱

Winners will win super cool gift baskets, with proceeds going towards HSSI's Pennies for Pets program where we sell low cost spay and neuter vouchers to pet owners in need of support fixing their pets! Once a month, our shelter sells these vouchers so owners can get their animals fixed for only $45! These vouchers cover the cost of the anesthesia and spay/neuter. Next month's vouchers will be given out on August 1st, so mark your calendars!

This boy has 7 days to find rescue or will be euthanized by animal control in Carbondale.

HAPPY UPDATE - the dogs owner was located and he is back at home! We are so inspired by the amazing community support. Jackson Co. truly cares about the well being of homeless animals and we could not be more inspired by the outpouring of concern and support.

EDIT PLEASE READ- this dog is NOT owned by Wright-Way Rescue. Our kennels are full and we are helping in the best way we can - by trying to find his owner or an adopter to PREVENT him from being killed in 7 days. Please share to help us save him.

This sweet boy was found as a stray in Carbondale. He will be held by animal control for 7 days and then euthanized by animal control, who no longer works out of the humane society, if his home or a new home is not found. We dont know much about him other than he loves giving kisses, seems to really enjoy car rides, and appears to have a fantastic personality! He looks young 1-2 ish years. If you are his owner contact Carbondale Animal Control immediately. If you can provide him with a back up home if not claimed please contact Wright-Way Rescue at [email protected] or 618 208 1509. WWR can help w his required vetting at cost prior to adoption.

Local shelters are at capacity everywhere! Consider adopting! Please spay or nueter to prevent unplanned pregnancies.

UPDATE- these puppies are all safe. There is a live video update on our page if you’d like to see them. BUT we urgently need fosters for other puppies. Please email [email protected] if you are willing to help!

URGENT - These puppies only have until 5pm to find foster!!!

Their mom was brought into a local Southern IL clinic for a spay/abort. The puppies were full term and the clinic has reached out in an attempt to save them.

We need people willing to bottle feed. They can be split up into groups of 2 or more. Puppies of this age require a heat source (heating pad) and feeding every 3-4 hours round the clock. It is not an easy job but is extremely rewarding. If you are up for the challenge and feel committed to the process, please immediately email [email protected].

The mom has already been picked up by her owners. At this point we need to focus on saving the puppies.

St Francis and the Marion penitentiary are trying to start a prison program, where the inmates train our dogs, and then they are up for adoption. We had a very successful program like this in the past with the Vienna prison and the person in charge of that retired. We need a certified trainer!!!!! If you are a certified trainer and you are interested in helping this program get off the ground please respond. It would be awesome if you were a volunteer but that is a lot to ask. We would work something out. Eventually, the program would be self sustaining because the inmates would be certified. This would give the inmates a job opportunity once they get released and it’s an awesome program for our dogs. Please share so we can find somebody to help get this program going. THANK YOU
