My most prized possessions , every appointment book since 1995. While other groomers have all the latest and greatest computer programs for scheduling appointments I am cracking open a fresh 2025 book for the New Year😆. I will retire before I give these up. Every single one of my grooms has been recorded in these pages and I love looking back over the last 30 years and remembering all the sweet friends I’ve made along the way. Their parents too! ( Most of them any way 😉) The goodbyes this year were probably the most I’ve ever had in one year so looking forward to everyone staying alive in 2025! ( that kinda rhymes)
If these books could talk I would have a bestseller for sure. Cheers to another year of doing my best! I’m not the most talented groomer out there . ( social media has humbled me) but I do love what I do so as Emil Koepcke always said “ you get what you get and you don’t pitch a fit” 😆Happy New Year everyone !

I’m not saying I’m “old” I’m just saying if I fall off the back of my horse I’m not quite as bouncy as I used to be . . So every time I climb up I give us both a little pep talk. Today I told her that I had a million dogs to groom to get ready for Christmas next week so there was no room for funny business. I immediately regretted the slippery leggings I wore once I got up there but we had a perfect ride and she will definitely be on Santas nice list again this year.

Busy week at Shampooches and the farm! Christmas grooms are full until the 23rd but we are looking forward to adding new clients in the New year 🎉

Shampooches turns 29 years old today!! The first picture was taken in 1995 in Rochester NY at grooming school and all these years (and dogs) later I am thankfully still here! Loving it just as much today as I did when the first dog stood on my table. Side note: There were a lot of students that needed dogs to practice on at school so the public brought their dogs in for cheap grooming. There were no guarantees when you picked up your pet that they would be recognizable but people stood in line for our inferior services 😆I’m so thankful for those dogs and their humans too! .

I had a friend reach out to me to see if I had any “extra ponies” around I might want to sell . Her little girl’s only wish was a horse from Santa. I looked around and immediately was like “Hell NO” 😆
Besides a few Christmas mornings with a “No from Santa” are the building blocks to finding a future husband who will buy you allllll the ponies!
