We know how much you want your furry friends to be included in the holiday festivities, but please avoid giving them table scraps altogether. Foods such as turkey skin, gravy, and stuffing can cause digestive issues or even pancreatitis. We don’t want your pets to feel sick during the holidays - or any day, for that matter - especially during these special moments. Not sure what is best for your pet? Contact us at 951-942-2042.

People aren’t the only ones that need routine checkups to make sure everything is fine with their health - your doggies do as well! When they are a pup, every few months is recommended for examination. After they are a year old, 1 to 2 times a year is ideal if they are healthy. We love your dogs as much as you do and want to keep them as healthy as possible! Contact us at 951-942-2042 to schedule an appointment!

No matter the climate of your area, your pet is consistently susceptible to heartworm infection. In many cases, initially, dogs that have been infected display no immediate symptoms, which unfortunately leads to intervention being ineffective. Therefore, it is important to administer year-round heartworm prevention to your pets. Contact us at 951-942-2042 to learn more!

How cute is this?! This lucky pet parent caught her precious fur baby wagging his tail as he sweetly slept beside her. Dogs dream too, you know? They dream similarly to humans in the sense that they may relive daily experiences during sleep. Have you caught your dog dreaming?

Did you know that you can actually help us to treat your pet’s heart disease by counting their breathing rate at home? Watch out for other clues as well such as coughing, weakness, labored breathing, weight loss, decreased appetite, restlessness, and agitation during sleep amongst others. Generally, normal dogs and cats have a breathing rate of 15-30 breaths every minute when at rest. Resting breathing rates consistently greater than 30 per minute are considered abnormal and should be reported to us. If you notice any of these symptoms in your pet, contact us at 951-942-2042 so we can investigate further.

Is your pet showing signs of discomfort or slowing down? 🙁
It could be arthritis, a common condition that affects many dogs and cats as they age. Arthritis can make movement painful and difficult, but the good news is that with the right treatment, we can help improve your pet’s quality of life!

Common signs of arthritis include
limping, stiffness, reluctance to jump or climb stairs, or even a change in their usual activity levels.
You might also notice your pet’s increased sensitivity to touch or difficulty getting up after resting.

At SoCal Pet Hospital we offer medication that can help manage pain and inflammation associated with arthritis, allowing your pet to move more comfortably and enjoy the activities they love. With the right treatment plan, we can help ease their discomfort and improve mobility, so they can live their life to the fullest, without the pain holding them back.
