Since 2013, Ariel has honed her expertise primarily in emergency and specialty hospitals, bringing a wealth of knowledge and hands-on experience to her current role as Internal Medicine Supervisor.

Ariel’s commitment to advancing her skills in Internal Medicine reflects her passion for providing high-quality care and her goal of specializing in Internal Medicine. Her career is marked by a deep understanding of complex cases and a compassionate approach to patient care.

Outside of her professional life, Ariel enjoys spending time with her family, staying active through exercise, and exploring new destinations through travel. As a former flight attendant, Ariel’s diverse background enriches her perspective and adds a unique dimension to her approach in veterinary medicine.

Great news! 🌟 This adorable barn owl was found by a kind soul in Murrieta, looking a bit under the weather. They rushed it to VCA California Veterinary Specialists where it got top-notch care. Now, this feathered friend is feeling so much better and is off to Project Wildlife for some extra TLC and rehab. Here’s to a speedy recovery and a happy return to the wild!

Leadership team Thursday! Meet Sumi.

Sumitra has been in the veterinary field for 32+ years with 26 years of those years in Emergency and Specialty. She has been with the company almost 24 years in multiple leadership positions and is currently the Operations Manager. She is an advocator of continuing education and providing compassionate care to our patients.
She is certified in Veterinary Practice Management, Compassion Fatigue, RECOVER CPR and Fear Free. She is also a Registered Veterinary Technician and participates on the PIMA San Marcos Veterinary Program Advisory Board. She is passionate about providing mentorship and guidance to those entering the field as well as experienced team members that need to reboot.

Outside of the hospital, her commitment to patients extends to her involvement in providing preventative veterinary medication and care to those who are low income or homeless through a non-profit she partners with.

With a strong belief in work-life balance, she resets by spending quality time with her husband and daughter. Laughter and cuddles are the best de-stressors in life! She also enjoys spending time in her garden with her koi pond or snuggling with her furbabies.

With heat waves sweeping across the country, blue-green algae is appearing in new areas and posing an increased risk to pets.

Found in lakes, ponds or any source of standing water, it’s extremely toxic and consuming it can be fatal. The best way to prevent accidental poisoning is to keep a close eye on pets when they’re around water.

If you think your pet has been exposed, take them to the nearest emergency veterinary hospital and contact the ASPCA Poison Control at 888-426-4435.

Bekah, originally from San Diego, had a lifelong passion for the veterinary field. Following her service in the Marine Corps, she pursued her VA certification at PIMA. With two decades of experience, Bekah has dedicated 16 years to VCA California Veterinary Specialists, starting as a CSR and advancing steadily through the ranks.

Beyond her career, Bekah cherishes her 25-year journey with her husband, who she considers her closest companion and an incredibly cool person. She has a deep affection for cats, likening them to cookies—you can never have just one. At home, Bekah shares her life with three cats: Maya, Myles, and Kevin.

In her spare time, Bekah indulges in reality TV shows and delights in hosting lively pool parties where she showcases her BBQ culinary skills.
