Now through January 31, all donations made to VCA Charities at VCA Animal Hospitals throughout California will support disaster relief efforts, including support for pets impacted by the current devasting fires in the Los Angeles area. VCA Animal Hospitals is proud to support VCA Charities, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in their disaster relief efforts. Every dollar helps local animal welfare organizations shelter, transport and care for pets through grants that fund veterinary care, medication, food, and supplies.

Donations can be made at any VCA Animal Hospitals or visit VCACharities.org to donate online.

To Our Community: Stay Safe During the LA Wildfires

Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the devastating wildfires in LA. We know this is an incredibly challenging time for many, and we want you to know that we’re here for you and your pets.

As we face these difficult circumstances, here are a few important tips to help protect your furry friends:

1. Have a Plan: Make sure you have an evacuation plan that includes your pets. Keep carriers, leashes, and essential pet supplies (food, medications, etc.) ready to go.

2. Limit Outdoor Time: If air quality is poor, keep pets indoors to avoid smoke inhalation.

3. Emergency Contacts: Keep a list of emergency veterinary contacts and shelter information handy. In case of evacuation, it’s helpful to know where you can bring your pets.

4. Stay Informed: Stay updated on local news and emergency alerts for evacuation orders or air quality conditions.

“Laura has over six years in the veterinary field, with the last three years being dedicated to Emergency and Critical Care. She has always been passionate about helping those in need, and knew from a young age that she wanted to work with animals. There’s so much that she loves about Emergency, from working with complicated cases to mentoring new technicians. She promotes Fear-Free practices for every patient, and is RECOVER CPR certified.

Outside of work, she enjoys camping trips, hiking, and spending time with her three cats.
