Hi from Peggy at Happy Tails. Just a few thoughts:

I found a quote fitting for the 2022 to 2023 transition…. “Celebrate endings – for they precede new beginnings.”

In 2018 Beth Hecht Van Zandt and I opened Happy Tails Pet Resort & Kennel in Muscatine. During the years of long hours and improved mop handling skills, we have learned alot, made many new friends, and loved more dogs than I ever thought I would have a chance to snuggle. The end of 2022 was the end of Happy Tails as we knew it but with endings come new beginnings.

I am pleased to introduce the new dog service in Muscatine, Zoomiez Dog Daycare & Kennel! Alli Brade and Neil will provide the great service at the same address and a new start. You will see many of the same, caring staff members in a happy, positive atmosphere!

Our customers were not only customers but became our family. They gave us their precious family members to care for and we loved everyone of them in their own special way. Thank you for your trust.

As I sit here open our quiet home on a Sunday morning, ok our pups started the wake up vocal at 4am, I didn’t have to wake Tim up for early kennel duty. I have to thank him his continued support and patience!

Thanks to our amazing team and to Beth for an amazing adventure.

As the end of the year approaches, we are announcing that we will be closing Happy Tails Pet Resort & Kennel on Dec. 31, 2022.

With that being said, on Jan. 1, 2023, Alli Brade and Neil Bazan will take over as the new owners of, Zoomiez Dog Daycare & Kennel The same caring staff will stay on board with them, same safe place to bring your dogs for all your daycare & kenneling needs. The phone number will also stay the same, 563-260-6859. The new email will be, [email protected]

All kennel reservations from Jan. 1, moving forward, will be honored, as well as daycare reservations.

We are very excited for them to carry on the quality care and fun we have built over the nearly five years we have been in business. We are excited about this change and have confidence in them continuing great service into the future.

Peggy and I would like to thank our staff for their dedication to keeping your pets safe and spoiled at the same time. We especially want to thank you, our clients, for trusting us with your fur babies. We will miss our staff, and of course the dogs, and seeing their owners on a regular basis. We have made wonderful friends and we will miss you all.

Just a reminder, We will be closed on Dec. 24 and Dec. 25. No kennel drop-off or pick-ups those days. If you were scheduled on one of those days, please check you messages,
Also, our Daycare will be closed the week of Dec. 26-30. During that week, kennel pick-up and drop-off will be from 7-8:30 a.m., and 3:30-5 p.m.

We are currently looking to hire a morning Daycare Attendant. You must be able to work, Monday-Friday, 6:30 a.m.-1 p.m. You must be 18 years old. To do this job safely, you must be able to be on your feet for up to 5-6 hours at a time, regularly lift up to 40 lbs. and physically control large dogs in and out of the play areas. You will be required to do daily cleaning chores, including cleaning-up after the dogs, mopping and sanitizing rooms. Knowledge of animal behavior, is a big plus.

If you think you are the right fit, starting Monday, Sept. 19, please stop in for an application at 720 Clay St., Muscatine, Monday-Friday 7 a.m.-6 p.m.
