‼️ Please be aware of a new warning against feeding your pets a raw food diet ‼️

If you have not heard, there has been a recent incident in which a pet’s raw food diet was contaminated with the bird flu virus, which sadly resulted in the pet’s death. More info can be found here…

At this time, we recommend avoiding all raw food diets, freeze-dried diets and raw milk. These foods can potentially expose your pet to harmful bacteria and viruses, including the bird flu. We encourage you to feed your pet a commercial pet food, which has been heat-treated to eliminate these pathogens.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding your pet’s food, our staff is happy to help navigate you in the right direction!

Three things you can do to celebrate this month are...
1. Post a pic of your kitties in the comments and let us know your favorite things about them!
2. Adopt a cat that needs a home! If your household is already at capacity, consider donating to a local shelter.
3. Show your pets some extra love and attention... and maybe get them a few new toys!

Remember - for us, a cat is only a part of our lives, but for them, we are their whole life! 🐾

Unfortunately, about 1 in 4 dogs, and 1 in 5 cats, will develop cancer at some stage in their lives. There are treatments available for certain types of cancer in pets, so it is important to know the signs and have your pet seen by a veterinarian quickly in order to have the best possible outcome.

We would like to introduce our new team member, Stevie! She is 8 weeks old and today was her first day on the job. She learned a TON and we are excited to see her grow in her new position! 😂😆

Leptospirosis is now a Core vaccine for dogs! 🐶 This means all dogs should be current on this vaccination.

If you are not sure if your dog has had this vaccination before, please give us a call and we will be happy to review your pet’s file with you. 🐾

🚨 Important Update: Leptospirosis Now a Core Vaccine for ALL Dogs
The 2022 AAHA Canine Vaccination Guidelines have been updated to classify the leptospirosis vaccine as CORE for all dogs starting at 12 weeks of age – regardless of lifestyle, location, or breed.
Why the change?
🌆 ALL dogs are at risk—urban, suburban, and rural.
⚠️ Potentially fatal, even with treatment.
🔄 Zoonotic—it can spread from pets to humans.
🏢 Dogs in daycare and kennels also face exposure risks.
