Looking for a couple of very special homes for these senior chihuahuas!
How do senior dogs end up at an animal shelter? We are shocked no one has come in looking for their beloved pets!
These little angels deserve to live out their lives in a home. Are you that special person, family, home?
Please visit us at www.poundbuddies.org and submit a MYPETPROFILE to meet these very special senior dogs.
Thank you! โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ

Puppies!
We have four 9 week old Shepherd Husky mix puppies at the shelter. 3 male and 1 female. We know these pups are beyond cute but please always research the breed to make sure it will fit perfectly into your familyโs lifestyle.
Go to Poundbuddies.org to fill out a MyPet profile to set up an appointment to meet them.
Thank you for all the medical supplies...Holy cow did your generosity help!
Spartie is feeling like a champ this weekend and he is healing remarkably well.
His wounds are still in need of daily care but we are thrilled to see him act like his puppy self finally๐ฅฐ
Sparty has a follow up this Wednesday with Dr. Graham so we'll see if he gets some more good news๐
Thank you everyone for your generous donations to help Spartie! We appreciate you all!!!โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ
After 2 weeks on her own, '"Patti" is finally safe!
On August 23rd, we reieced a call for a dog running loose in the Sunrise Cemetery off Laketon.
When we arrived at the location, she was on a mission and we unfortunately lost sight of her.
The next 2 days, we continued to look for her and scout the area but we never saw her. A post was made stating she may have been hit by a car, she was limping.
That was the last post that was made and no other sightings were reported. We were so worried she was injured and suffering somewhere with no help....๐
THEN....yesterday, a wonderful man, Pat, came in and said has been seeing a dog in the wooded area at his job site. As we got to talking, it became clear that this is the same dog we've been looking for!๐๐
We met Pat at his job site and set a trap close to where she was bedding down. We left a smelliest, yummiest bowl of soft food and water...now we just have to see of she'll be interested๐ค
We didn't hear from Pat yesterday but we were still hopeful that we'd get the dog very soon.
After a night of wondering and hoping, we got the phone call we were waiting for....Pat said the dog was in the trap! ๐ฅฐ๐ฅฐ๐ฅฐ
Pat sat with her and kept her company until we arrived early this morning....what a relief to know this poor girl is finally safe!
We immediately named her "Patti," in honor of Pat, who reported her and helped us secure her. What wonderful people we have in our communityโค๏ธ
Patti is resting well tonight and has enjoyed lots of love and the comfort of a soft bed and a good meal.
Thank you Pat! ๐
Check out the comments for a video of how happy Patti was when she was in the van...it's priceless! ๐

Donโt skip out on the opportunity to adopt this perfect boy
Please think of Lavern today as she heads into surgery.
Lavern was found injured on the side of the road. She was examined by Dr. Graham and Dr. Houser and it was determined the nerves in her shoulder were severed. She was paralyzed and the arm needed to be amputated.
Lavern is in surgery today at Glenpark and we know she is in the absolute best hands!๐ฅฐ
We are anxious to get her back to Pound Buddies and help her recover and then find her an amazing family.
Lavern is probably 1 year to 2 years old, she is extremely affectionate and even with her injury she has been a happy dog.
We'll keep you updated!
Reducing stress and providing enrichment for our dogs is crucial for their well-being while in the shelter.
This is the #1 reason we do not open the housing areas for people to walk through all day. Yes, that has been done for years but it is truely very stressful and unpleasant for most dogs.
Everyday, the dogs are given quiet time to rest and enjoy a variety of soothing music. Sometimes it's classical, regardless, or like today, some amazing Chris Stapleton country music. And as you can see....the dogs love it!
(Who wouldn't enjoy an afternoon nap! Lol)
Hope you enjoy seeing the dogs so relaxed as much as we do.โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ

Catch of the day! ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ
This poor girl was reported as being dumped out-of a car (witness stated) she then got loose from the good Samaritin who saved her from the roadway.
She was spotted running loose on Laketon near the shelter so we knew we had to work fast to keep her safe!
After pulling out all the tricks in our bag...lol...we finally secured her thanks to Shealagh Bazzett's quick lasso maneuver! ๐๐๐
Man, I wish that would have been caught on video! Great job Shealagh!
