🐝 SAVE OUR BEES 🐝

To help the bees during the summer months, there are fewer flowers and other food sources for the bees.

Water is also scarce, and so many bees drown as they try to drink from the pools.
Grate an apple and add some water to a bowl.
The bees will be able to get the sugar from the fruit, drink the water, and not drown as they can stand on the pieces of fruit.

Our bee populations are threatened; let's give them all the support we can.

Years back I had one of the birds potty trained (2009 or so). I could see she would hold it too long or push when she didn’t have to go for a treat or to come out.

Know better, do better; no potty training here.

Potty Training Pet Birds

Birds defecate often. For this reason, some owners will try to potty train their bird.

When a bird receives a reward for defecating on command or at the right spot, they might start pushing more or harder just to get a reward. In extreme cases this could even lead to cloacal prolapse. Another issue could occur when the owner is away and someone else takes care of the bird. The bird might not understand when and where it is allowed to defecate.

Hey again friends!!! HAPPY 2024!

We are currently taking applications for Max & Sunny!!

Max is an umbrella cockatoo (6 YO Male). Super fun guy who loves to be involved in all the household fun. Max is in his hormonal years and requires someone who understands proper husbandry. When Max first came to the rescue he was nippy and over stimulated. His nesting behavior & hormones had taken over, due to improper handling & excessive snuggles. He has since turned the corner and is a sweet and loving boy, but we could easily revert back if he is not properly handled and kept busy. Adoption fee is applicable.

Sunny is a Blue & Gold Macaw (25 ish year old female). Like most macaws, Miss Sunny is super sweet to her person. She needs a home with someone willing to dedicate themselves to her. When company comes over, Sunny needs her own space. Shes really good at communicating what is and is not okay with her. Shes give the signals and needs a forever friend that’ll listen to her. She’s a ham; loves to sing, dance, fly, sing some more and she talks up a storm, mostly polite things 😜. Adoption fee is applicable. Please do not message for an application unless you have prior bird experience.

Happy New Year, from our flock to yours!

Nothing makes the morning better than snugs with your 64 year old BFA (Blue is a permanent resident and NOT for adoption). She loves to sit on my chest, assuming for extra head pets and to rest her arthritic feet and legs 💚 💙 💛.
