Dead hair strip on a mini Aussie. ❤️
Sometimes when double coats are trimmed too short, their undercoat goes into over drive and creates a thick defense layer. To reset the hair, a good thorough clean, deep conditioning and proper tools to pull out that extra dead hair. Furminator Blade “brushes” on a coat this long will cause breakage and slow the return of guard hairs. Use an undercoat rake like the Andis one pictured or anything in your budget! They come in a fine tooth and course, in this case, the fine toothed one worked best to get the dead hair out while preserving the healthy guard coat.

1/10 UPDATE: We opened over 200 spots last night. There are only a few female feline spots left, but MANY male feline spots are still available for both event dates.

We were only able to open a few canine spots each day due to our holding capacity, so those always fill up immediately.

Please call the clinic with your name, number, dogs name, breed, age and size, and we can add you to our canine surgery wait-list.
Since we do not do high volume canine surgeries, we unfortunately do not have a current wait time.

We are excited to open sign-ups for our next TWO Bissell Pet Foundation spay and neuter events - Jan 18-20, and Feb 8-10!

Please read these details and make sure you meet the requirements BEFORE reserving a spot:

REQUIREMENTS:
- Your pet must be healthy.
- Felines must be over 3lbs.
- Every feline must be contained in its OWN crate. Multiple cats cannot be in one crate.
- Please add your name, your pet's name, and your phone number to the top of your feline's kennel.
- Do not feed your pet after 8:00pm the night before surgery (water is okay).

DETAILS:
** Drop off is 8:00am-8:30am - Pick up will be between 4:00pm-5:00pm on the same day.
** If you sign up... SHOW UP!! We do not plan future dates ahead of time for these events. If you are not sure you can make it, or catch the cat you want to bring, DO NOT RESERVE A SPOT.
** We will do feral cats, but please do not reserve a spot if you aren’t sure you can catch your feral for the appointment. These spots are limited, and "no-shows" waste appt times for pets that need us!
** Add-on services are available for additional costs. You can add them when you sign up or at check in. Pre-paying for additional services when you sign up will speed your check-in process.

I am humbled by the outpouring of gratitude. Every year has had its challenges and rewards, many new fluffy friends and loses of senior pups. I couldn’t imagine doing any other job. I look forward to 2024 and new adventures it will bring! This is just a small portion of cards and gifts I get to look at while sitting at my desk. 🐶
